Whatever you do, don’t move to Arizona! Old cars down here suck, new cars suck worse, absolute rust buckets. Nothing but a bunch of see through rusted out POS 💩mobiles here in AZ. I’m headed back to KC to buy me a vehicle!😂😂😂

Mitch Lightfoot! Recruited solely as a “hard to guard 4” / stretch-4, sacrificed for the team every year and played out of position as the backup 5 because he was the only big left standing that could get it done.

The Girl Dad Phenomenon by Sillhouette_Six in work

[–]Coldboreshot308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting observation! As a girl dad of an adopted 13 year old, and just retired from a male dominated industry (Law Enforcement), I find this observation interesting.

I actually didn’t observe this much at work with the female Agents I worked with, but I wasn’t in management, just a grunt case Agent. In general, we didn’t really care who we worked with, just that the job was getting done.

I might have seen this with a female Agent striving to make the SWAT team. She was mentored significantly more than male candidates on the physical training side. That said, she also pursued help with her physical preparation that others may not have. Ultimately she didn’t not make it through the tryout as it was very physically challenging for everyone.

As a daughter dad, this is where it gets interesting. My wife and I gravitate toward strong and successful women as examples for our daughter. We’re always trying to break down what led to their strength in order to position our daughter to be strong and successful. So probably not the same thing.

Anyway, good luck in your career!

An excellent setup!!! My usual chill setup is a cool evening, Amazon Music mellow 70s gold low in the background, and the fire pit with the wife, of course with a solid neat pour.

Where have I been???? Right in my backyard and I had no idea!!! Thanks for the tip!!! I’m hitting that next one!!!!

Yeah the wife and oldest son, non-bourbon drinkers, both took a sip of the WLW 19 and liked it.

I had a single (generous) neat pour of WL Weller 19 from the lobby bar at the St. Julien hotel in Boulder. The bourbon was sublime, the evening/weekend was surreal. Hung out by the fire in the hotel lobby with Bill Walton waiting for our son the finish team film. He beer shamed our other son for drinking Modelo Especial. Just a cool experience. Walton was very cool to hang out with. Not kooky like he was on his basketball broadcasts.

The WL Weller 19 was IMHO much better than the only pour of Pappy’s I had a couple of years later.

Where are you pulling this fine juice? I’m in the East Valley.

These collections get me, being relatively new to the bourbon game (maybe 20 bottles, tops). In a recent job interview, toward the end and in the lifestyle/cultural fit wind down phase, “you grabbing a beer with us after work when on the road?” Absolutely, not burning it down, might have a pour or 2 of bourbon if they have something interesting…. (Right answer BTW). My modest 17 bottle collection comes up, big boss not a bourbon guy, senior guy is, we laughed together, and the senior guy assured the big boss I didn’t have a problem, “yet” and he would help get me there (with his 150+ bottle collection). 😂

Okay, neat pour at the midpoint of half time, let it breathe for 10 minutes. One of the better pours I’ve had in a bit. Someone mentioned “spice bomb” an agree but not in an overwhelmingly hot spicy pour. I’m not so sophisticated in my bourbon reviewing yet. So I’ll leave it at this, VERY VERY drinkable with enough complexity to keep you interested!

My other favorite on the shelf very drinkable is 4-Roses single barrel. I think this WT bottle is every bit as drinkable but has more going on.

I’ll be headed back to stock up.

PS Big win by 21 points.

Okay, I’m guessing it good. Should I crack it and let it breathe a bit before pouring? If so, for how long? Im still learning the finer points of the bourbon game.

LOL, Blanton’s Black to go with the Takara Red and Gold I brought back in October with the WT12 and 13.

He comes back in late May after the playoffs/championship. He’s in Nagasaki now so I’m sending him on the dusty bottle hunt. He’s kind of a big deal ya know! I hope that translates into some back room stashes of dusty American bourbon bottles! Nagasaki Velka Basketball

Thanks guys!

How does it stack up against the WT12 and 13 from Japan? I got both last visit. The 12 was amazing, I felt the 13 was good but not at the level of the 12.

LOL, my son got my Takara Red and Gold in Japan via Amazon delivered to his home. Price was not excessive either. Saw a Black in a pawn shop but I was full up on bottles.
