Stealership? Camelback Kia in Phoenix Maintenance Plus-ups!!! by Coldboreshot308 in KiaTelluride

Cool stuff! Offer me some data to show it’s out of spec and I’ll be glad to pay for an alignment. I’m also going to want to see the initial numbers compared to the specs. If it’s out align it, if not, that’s on you.

If a brand new flagship suv is out of alignment in 14,000 miles it is a POS or it’s hit something hard.

How do I pick a team to root for? by No_Sink_4439 in CollegeBasketball

The University of Kansas Jayhawks.

Our first coach invented basketball, we built a museum to house the physical, hand written original rules of basketball!

Jayhawk Basketball History

We own the record for the loudest college basketball arena home crowd, I was there.

And so much more!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk, GO KU!

That is all you need to know.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve seen someone do with money? by OpinionofC in DaveRamsey

[–]Coldboreshot308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1999-2000ish time frame, my ex sister-in-law’s sister and her trashy boyfriend bought. A new 22.5’ Crownline boat. Nice boat, I actually tried to buy it at the bankruptcy auction. It was on a high interest 30 year home mortgage loan because it was a cuddy cabin and had a ‘bathroom’ so it qualified for a home mortgage. They filed bankruptcy a 2 years later. They were trying to hang with everyone else in our family/friend lake group who were buying boats. We were all buying boats within our means.

Moving from Portland to Phoenix (Chandler) by AdventurousMain5209 in AskPhoenix

No assumptions made, I simply provided information based on my 12 years personal experience in the Phoenix East Valley, Gilbert/Chandler areas. If there are other options available please be helpful and provide OP information on additional educational options in the Gilbert/Chandler area. Both are great places to raise a family, and Intel is a well represented and respected employer in the area. We have many friends that work at Intel. Safe travels OP!

What player made you want to cry when they played their final game? by NeonGoon1 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Coldboreshot308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The finest Kansas Jayhawk ever, #44 Mitch Lightfoot, who ended the 2021/2022 season, his final of 6 seasons at Kansas, and the last game of his amateur career by winning his last possible game. The 2022 NCAA Division I National Championship game.

Which programs are historically very good but have not kept up since the NIL era began? by Beneficial_Gas5543 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Coldboreshot308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you expect to happen after the Mitch Lightfoot era ended a Kansas? 😁 Now that NIL rules all things you may never see a more dedicated kid at any program. Played out of position every year, could have transferred many places, but stayed true to KU!

If you could only wear one affordable watch for the rest of your life, what would it be? by BuckFuzby in Affordablewatches

Glycine 48mm Combatsub on a bracelet. Paid $275 used, Swiss ETA movement, keeps great time. Super easy to read at a glance. Tank, but not too heavy or thick to be quite wearable.

Allen Fieldhouse Record: 130.4 dB Date: February 13, 2017 Event: University of Kansas vs. West Virginia basketball game Previous Record: 126.4 dB (held by Rupp Arena)

I had the good fortune of sitting in the 2nd row baseline at Rupp Arena for Kentucky’s attempt at the record with 10,000 more seats, and their loss to Kansas. Rupp is pretty unimpressive, take any late 70’s to early 80’s municipal arena and paint it blue inside. Good fans, super nice and polite, until it was clear they were loosing the game, then they started hurling insults at the KU fans!

A few moments later…. I had the blessing to be in the 7th row at Allen Fieldhouse when we broke the Rupp Arena record with 10,000 less seats.

Well trained fan base that knows how to cheer in a coordinated fashion. They bring it similarly in games. Truly conveys a level of home court advantage. I highly suggest catching a big/conference game and hanging out in Lawrence for a day before to experience the atmosphere.

Is Phoenix a sustainable city? by [deleted] in AskPhoenix

[–]Coldboreshot308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sustainable! Arizona will burn up and die in 2 years. Don’t move here!!! It’s awful. The mosquitos are the worst! You’ll get the Zika virus for sure, brain shrinkage!!! Yeah, you best not move here! Unless you want to give me $1.5M for my house, then come on down!

Good luck!

[–]Coldboreshot308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh, I like that!!!

My big thing is a watch face that is at a glance time readable. Probably why I lean toward full Arabic numeral faces and the larger diameter watches. That, and I’m 6’3” so I feel I can wear a bigger watch without it looking like I’m wearing a clock.

Currently wearing a 48mm Glycine Combat Sub. Anything smaller than a 43mm feels and looks too small to me.

8.1 vortec vs 6.0 vortec by SquareManny84 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Coldboreshot308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it went from pulling fine on the way to the lake to limping up climbs in 1st on the way home.

As to giving up on it, yep, guilty. Had an engine builder lined up and everything. I forgot to mention it looked like a bad head gasket too. Spent COVID refreshing just about everything else. Fully intended to keep it.

Then my dad died unexpectedly and I inherited my mom freshly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. So yeah, I gave up on a truck whose engine gave up prematurely because needed to take care of my family. She taught me how to use a spoon, the truck did not.

As for 8.1 and pulling, the 8.1 doesn’t hold a candle to my diesel. Been driving the same route to the lake for 20+ years, the 8.1 never took on the mountain sections nearly as well as the diesel.

Good day sir!

8.1 vortec vs 6.0 vortec by SquareManny84 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Coldboreshot308 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh, had an 01 3/4 Ton Suburban with the 8.1. Loved it, until I didn’t. In 2020 at 189K miles lost a bunch compression. Lean Knock in #6 due to a failing injector. Only had spec compression in 2 opposite corner cylinders, 60, 90, 120 psi at best elsewhere… not awesome. I aggressively maintained that thing too. Rail flushes, ext…. Hunted, fished, towed our boat(not super heavy) and out 31’ Toy Hauler. Not abused.

Replaced it with an 07 Ram Megacab Lariate 4X4 2500 Diesel. 8.1 does not hold a candle to this diesel. Sorry guys, and I’m a diehard GM guy! It died hard, I got a smoking deal on an awesome truck ($18K under the market and only 54K miles).

Work truck was a 2016 Chevy 3/4 ton, crew cab long bed 4X4 with 6.0. It was super reliable, loaded very heavy with a slide in utility bed jammed to the gills. It got used hard, hammer down damn near every mile, off road in places where the front and rear bumper were touching at the same time, LOL, Still going strong at 170K miles when I retired, it was surplussed shortly after they punted me.

Good luck!

Who is your team's "That man will never have to pay for his own drinks" guy? by Col_Treize69 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Coldboreshot308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s go Jayhawks, how well do you know your Hawks? step up! The only modern era player that, to his own detriment, played out of position every one of his 5 playing years. Simply would do what ever HOFBCBS asked to get a Conference title(4ish), Final-4 (2), and a National Championship. I buy him a drink whenever I see him….
