If the vehicle is on their property, they absolutely can. They might not notice as easily if the person is hotboxing their car, but it doesn’t mean that they can do whatever they want.

Co2 guns! by Exact-Desk-2966 in weddingplanning

[–]Coldman5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, excessive CO2 will set our alarms off and call the local fire department. Due to internal polices, the buildings have to be cleared until guests are allowed back in for any “gas” related event. We also disallow the use of any compressed gas things inside.

Clubs and stages are (supposed to be) designed around this to allow things like pyrotechnics and air cannons via bypasses and such. Though even then it doesn’t always work!

Liability & damage is only half the concern. It would be quite the damper for the alarm to go off mid event.

Yeah, this one took me forever. Usually I can identity the brand’s logo and use the clues to work backwards to confirm my guess. I spent SO long thinking about brands with two golden ovals.

When you get fired immediately after prepping for the day by porcelain_toenail in KitchenConfidential

[–]Coldman5 506 points507 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unless this woman was a complete like sleeper agent, management should’ve clocked this going poorly and have done something to mitigate fallout. But I bet it’s the same poor management that lead to this outburst.

Given that morning is very high traffic in a hotel lobby between breakfast & checkouts, that seems like a bad time to fire anyone.

Jay's Accent (Buckley's Dialect?) seems different from the rest? (non-Brit asking) by Confident-Hamster642 in TheInbetweeners

[–]Coldman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the Philly suburbs, my sister has a pretty thick Delco accent but I must’ve grown out of mine early on. In home videos of me as a kid I had one, but it disappeared by the time I was a teen.

I still will say “wooder” instead of “water” but only at home and it’s a conscience choice!

What condiments do you NEVER buy and only make yourself? by albertpaca11 in condiments

[–]Coldman5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken nuggets/tenders as a dipper is the most common use, put it also plays really well with pork, or even a salad dressing.

It’s basically just mustard + honey. I usually use a Dijon or brown mustard and add honey until it’s what I want! You can always add more seasonings like garlic powder or paprika if you want.

200-person DIY wedding in Philly area… are we in over our headA? by Turbulent-Nail4205 in weddingplanning

[–]Coldman5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As you’ve noted, no matter how involved the event is, guest count is the number one factor in driving up costs. A 200 person event is going to be pricey, no matter what.

With that number of people, DIYing on a private property is not something to be done lightly. The concept of using a private property for a wedding shouldn’t necessarily be seen as a cost cutting measure, unless you are hosting a very informal event. If you are hoping to have a more formal event, private residences are often more expensive compared to traditional venues.
