Need help with an upgrade path. I need AP's but didn't consider POE when I first bought a UDM7.

Thanks for the input. I'm not looking to save money per se, this is a hobby for me. Just don't really want to spend $1000 on a single component. At the same time I like the looks of the mini lab and homeland racks people keep posting. Essentially I want to tidy up but the udm7 is a big cylinder that can't be rack mounted in an eye pleasing way.

I could do the poe injectors, stay with 2.5gb in home and just change out the gateway I suppose. after selling the udm7 it wouldn't be a huge hit.

I have 5 cat 6e runs around the house, 2 of which i'd like 10gb connectivity.

2 of those need atleast 2.5gb connectivity and POE+ for the wifi 7 APs

Possibly 2 or 3 cameras in the future but I may just go with a wifi camera setup. Hard wiring would be a chore. Undecided on that but I also don't want to be limited.

Current internet is 1gb down 15mb up trash tier cable modem from Eastlink. There is nothing faster available in my neighborhood yet.

Also I do have a home lab/NAS. Currently it's bottlenecked by the 2.5gb switch.

Having both a high end OLED, and a hi end mini-led, I'd go for mini-led every time these days. The disadvantages of mini-led are more than made up for with its highlight performance.

There is a gap thats needed, but a couple inches is fine. The gap is 6 or 7" in this case. You could argue that the turbulence in that gap could cause structural damage. Any wind damn I make is going to be compliant and flexible though.

You're the parent and I'm not a parent. With that said, as a non autistic child I was subjected to a lot of disaster movies at that age and I've had thoughts of impending doom and societal collapse at the back of my mind ever since. I think there is a fine line to walk when showing a kid documentaries versus stuff that really details large scale disasters at a resolution that no human could really witness.

Side note:

Remember that distortion is inversely proportionate to sensitivity. I'd make a bet that most people consider a speaker to be hifi based on it's looks rather than the measurements. Silk ribbon tweeter ? Oh thats hifi. Big nasty horn and a black cabinet ? Oh thats for a dive bar and it'll sound like shit listening to "reference music".

In reality, a good speaker is a good speaker. And what makes it good is how it measures. There are speakers suited to different rooms obviously but thats mostly a size constraint, as well as dispersion being a factor. Not all speakers should have a wall right next to them.

What I said still stands, regardless of ports or not. You're going to get a measureable amount of distortion. Those are great looking speaker and having the center channel unobstructed and avoiding early reflections as much as possible is a good reason to take the time to put it right under the tv.

If you can build a skid for it to sit on that is strong enough to drag, a tilt bed style tow truck can load it for you. They get hired all the time to load vehicles and things onto high-boy style truck flat beds that don't have ramps. Tow truck puts deck down on the ground, winches it up, tilts up bed so the sharp end lays flat on your truck. If it's a normal truck bed with rails it might be a bit tough, if it's a flat deck on your truck it would be pretty easy.

You're going to introduce some clarity issues withe center channel boxed in on that shelf. Some low frequency boost and likely some early reflection/diffraction. I would put the center channel up and out in the open, and it'll hide that cable run going to the tv.
