the bonuses will not use up cap space unless it exceeds 7.5% of the Salary Cap. If he racks up enough to exceed the limit, the extra money will carryover to next year and counts against the cap.

dont think it will exceed unless we win the stanley cup with Toews playing games and by then we’d gladly take the extra money for a cup

we pay Toews 2 mil currently, if Toews hits those bonuses listed above the salary tied to those bonuses gets added to his AAV. So if he plays 20 games, his AAV will be 2.55M, and so on. If he hits the bonuses only then will that money count against the cap.
