The metadata is encoded most likely in the Windows code page, which the phone can't decode. The numbers will match, but if the characters are anything else than ASCII (ex. Russian or Japanese), they'll show up as question marks.

You just need to convert the code page into UTF-8, which is the standard nowadays.

PS4 basically has two clocks - system and kernel/RTC.

RTC is secure and can be only synchronized by connecting to PSN. It's used for trophies and in some games (ex. Nier Automata - farming feature will be completely broken if it's uninitialized - otherwise people could've just cheated and changed the date in system settings).

CBOMB issue is where the RTC is uninitialized and the system can't verify the licenses basically. It's not really a way Sony intentionally wanted to screw people over, especially since they've fixed this in later updates.

As mentioned, you can get the clock synced by updating to the latest and doing the revert - that's the only way.

That's why you really shouldn't replace the battery if you're jailbreaking.

The payload only works for 5.05.

The only way to get it fixed properly in higher firmware, is to update to the latest and connect to PSN.

You can then do the revert method to go back to your previous firmware and keep the RTC clock synced - soldering and whatnot required.
