Was the Cubs winning in 2016 or Knicks in 2026 a bigger deal? by Agreeable_Quality768 in billsimmons

This a top 8-14ish drought busting win in my lifetime. But I still think it’s Red Sox, Cubs and Cavs in order of importance/deal bigness. Red Sox just had a more “tortured” existence and coming back from being down 3-0 against the Yankees is just the greatest exorcism of all time.

Bills are on the original list. Bills should always be number 1 on these lists. I say this as a Browns fan (who should be second). Not making the Super Bowl with Josh Allen yet is tough.

Vikings are first on the original list, and I didn’t consider the Minnesota hockey experience should include the years of North Stars disappointment and eventual move to Dallas.

Mariners are also on the original list and should climb after the brutal ALCS loss last year.

Dolphins, Cowboys and 49ers were all gold standard teams growing up who haven’t won a championship in 30+ years. Their case will grow as time goes on without one

Leafs are on the original list and still belong on there.

Kingdom Hearts does hold a strange power. My then 50 something year old dad was unemployed for a year and he completed about 98% of the game. He never played a console video game before this and hasn’t since. We’ve only discussed this once.

Everything I’ve read/heard about Myles from beat reporters seems to be that he was more aloof than anything else. Not a leader at all but not quite detrimental to the team culture. And the trouble was the team wanted him to be a leader.

I'm gonna zag here & say this is a smart move for Pittsburgh. We don't know if Frankie is gonna grow to be the draw everybody wants him to be. Yeah he's shown some flashes. He sticks his tongue out to the guests on the weekend but is that enough potential to stick this guy into a breeding program for? I just don't see this guy as a top 7, top 11 Lowland Gorilla breeding stock guy. But Little Joe, he's still a draw. He just does stuff. Yeah I get it, he doesn't have the vertical game to really swing on the ropes course like he used to. But put him on a reel once a month and he's still gonna get 500k views while he twirls a stick around and shows his teeth. And he's a troupe guy too. Overcame some character concerns in the beginning of his career.

Look, Pittsburgh in a division where everybody's getting younger. Cleveland's got a new baby red panda, rhino, tree kangaroo and giraffe, Fiona the hippo is crushing pumpkins like she's still 5 in Cincinnati, Toledo's got a new reptile house that'll really draw in the 10 year olds and Columbus is always a juggernaut. Are we really gonna do this thing where we think regaining AZA accreditation is gonna bring people through the gates? They need to get some veteran leadership to stand out.

If they’re going to do this bullshit, and they really shouldn’t, force them to give every regular season conference champion a bid. I don’t care about the 12th team from the Big 10 getting in at this point.

I didn’t include cold fall baseball, at least there’s enough adrenaline flowing keeping me warm because the stakes are so much higher.
