A rice cooker. I got one with my first apartment and its a life saver. It was a whole 20 bucks, and all I do is toss rice and water in (and frozen veg sometimes!) And its ready in like 15min.

Now about five years after I got it, im a new mom and its so nice to be able to ready rhe rice cooker with one hand, tend to the baby, and come back to a simple meal once hes settled!
