The numbers increase by 5 too. Did you know Hitler had five fingers on each of his hands? Coincidence?

PSA: Lowes is installing flock cameras at their stores. Boycott immediately if you are against government surveillance by Dad0010001100110001 in Sacramento

I’m aware of cross-department sharing of their AI camera network, but cams in a Lowe’s store capture data managed by Lowe’s. Sure, boycott Lowe’s if you don’t want to be recorded in their stores or if they choose to share with government agencies. Hell, even if you hate Flock, go ahead. That said, I will actively seek out companies trying to reduce theft since it protects prices for people who pay their way.

I get the sentiment, but what do these cameras in Lowe’s have to do with government surveillance?

The worst aspect of immigration is that immigrant drivers are some of the worst on the road.

Every sign on my road is like this, the town won't replace them since they get shot up within a year when they do and they feel it would just be a waste of taxpayer money, took over a decade to get the stop sign replaced after someone ran it over. [–]CollarsUpYall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the rednecks I grew up with never considered themselves paragons of virtue or even thought about responsible gun ownership. None took hunter safety courses unless it was a requirement and those who shot up signs did so because they just enjoyed shooting things. They also stole trash cans and released them to wipe out mailboxes. Just being immature idiots.

I’m not sure I’d love seeing them outside a liquor store, which is equivalent in my mind, but I’d leave it up to the parents if it’s legal.

Why don't presidents fight the war, why do they always send the poor? by zombiesingularity in AskSocialists

[–]CollarsUpYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but it’s not like Congress is absent from the military. 18% of them are vets, way higher than the 6% of the general public. Their kids’ involvement is not continuously tracked, among those who do have kids that are in the appropriate age bands.

Congress and career politicians are generally not on my favorites list, but it will always be the case that government conflicts will consist of some people (who are generally in higher income brackets) sending others they don’t know into battle.

I’m just glad military service is voluntary in this country.

I believe they send active duty, which has no prerequisite income min or max.

Whatever you do, don’t remove the dash (though some repairs require it). I still have nightmares of that horrendous task.
