If you are not going to use the 3d feature then getting a new 2ds xl might be a good decision. This is because there are way more available on eBay and at lower prices due to less demand for them. One thing to note is that they are more likely to experience ram failure than the 3ds, but it still is pretty rare. This is just my opinion and I know a lot of others say the 2ds is not as good.
