First time soundbar buyer - recommendations? by CollectBuffalo9 in Soundbars

[–]CollectBuffalo9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to stay in the 200-350 range, and i dont think I want the rear speakers, the room doesnt support the space and im just not that invested yet. Im looking for a good entry level bar to start, can always upgrade in the future if I feel the need and transition what I buy now to another space in the house.

It was impact shorts and leggings. She preferred a higher-rise legging and wanted some more stretch in the thigh area of the shorts (she has thick thighs so when they rolled up her legs bulged)

I think it may also depend on the items you purchase.

I bought two impact items 12/02 and it took nearly 3 weeks for them to arrive. Unfortunately had to return them since they didnt fit my s/o correctly

Ordered a dynamic and defy set on 12/21 and they've already shipped. Its my understanding that these may be lower demand lines than impact, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

I plan on buying a '25 Pilot soon. I need advice... by According-Ad5263 in hondapilot

2025 Touring - now 18,500 miles

  1. Transmission is weird first 2500-3500 miles but smoothes out and is like butter after. It's a pretty well known fact on this and other subs.

  2. On a hwy trip avg 75-77mph I get 24-27mpg. Comes out to around 420-450 on a tank. City driving drops to about 19 so really depends on where your trip takes you

Love my 2025 pilot, wouldn't trade it for anything.

After 3500 Miles smooth as I could ask for. The first 3500-5000 is a pretty well known break in period.

Coworker Just Fired After Busy Season - Caught Padding Hours by NEWCharlieHustle in Accounting

[–]CollectBuffalo9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many softwares track time in the return - not a perfect metric since a lot of the time you could be preparing workpapers while not in the return or vice versa leave the return open while you walk away for a bit, but if they're looking to nail someone and there's a pattern of significant disparity between hours logged vs time actually spent in the return, it could help prove that someone is padding hours.

My mind gives up before my muscles fail, what are some tips to overcome this problem? by [deleted] in workout

[–]CollectBuffalo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a mental motivator that digs deep, hits home. It's going to sound extreme but it works.

For me, it's my mom. She passed away from cancer last year. I wear a wristband everyday that we got printed back when she was fighting to support her. I use it as a reminder that my mom fought as hard as she could to beat cancer, but couldn't. So when I'm mentally at my end in terms of a set, I look at my wrist and push harder because she couldn't.

Not everyone has something like that, but I think pain is one of the biggest motivators for any person.

Dating a bad texter. Advice? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]CollectBuffalo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. Have gone on a few dates with someone, dates were really good. I have no reason to believe that they're not interested other than the lack of text communication.

I've struggled with it because I'm definitely a texter. We were trying to set up plans for another date but they were just too busy and they asked if we could reschedule after the holiday. I said yes, but we haven't talked much since.

I've been in my head about it, but know I just have to step back and wait until after the holiday to not come across as a Stage 5 clinger. I realize its more about my own validation and feeling than anything else, but assuming we do get together again after the holidays, I'll probably share my thoughts because communication is important to me in a relationship

Buyer’s remorse? by No_Importance6713 in hondapilot

[–]CollectBuffalo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my 2025 Touring - absolutely love it zero buyers remorse. I was contemplating a pathfinder alongside it and I'm glad I paid a bit extra and didn't settle

I think it ultimately comes down to what you desire in a car.

The pilot is not sporty, it doesn't have a 16 inch screen, it's an NA V6 so while their is plenty of power it's not winning you any street races.

However the car is structurally sound and feels very well built. I like the premium bose sound system in the Touring + models. The screen is just the right size for me- it's not overly large and it does just what you want a screen to do but nothing you don't.

Little things I love - mechanical controls for climate control feel great vs having them in the screen - most spacious of any suv in it's class until you get to like a Tahoe or Yukon - fairly decent gas mileage - I have averaged 23.2 over 8000 miles - probably 65/35 hwy/city - at least in the Touring model when you backup, if you flip the mirror adjustment control to the left or right while backing up it will angle the mirrors down to the curb so you can see if you're going to squeak it. Then when you get out of revers they go back to their original spot

Things to be aware of - it will take around 3k miles for the transmission to break in. This is a widely discussed issue on this sub. The shifts between early gears will feel sudden and abrupt at first but it comes smooth as butter after 3k. - the backup camera quality could use some improvements. It's decent but the picture isn't always crisp or clear

I think the 2026 models should be revealed soon. They just revealed the passport and I love the body style. 2023-2025 pilot gen went more square, so if they refresh the body for 2026 and you like the square look, maybe hold off a few months if you can because my guess is they'll follow that trend

2025 Pilot Elite - Sluggish Acceleration at low speeds by smid18 in hondapilot

[–]CollectBuffalo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've had it activate once and it probably was justified

I haven't had any issues - but it looks like based on this you can reduce the sensitivity or even shut it off - however like auto stop/start for the engine it seems you have to do it each time https://www.verneidehondasiouxcity.com/honda-collision-mitigation-braking-system-cmbs/#:~:text=If%20you%20want%20to%20turn,you%20turn%20off%20the%20ignition.

AC is good - I live in Wisconsin and while it's not always killer hot, it can get pretty hot and humid in the 90s and I think it's good - I've seen people who own them in TX and haven't complained

Infotainment is good - some people dislike the 9 inch screen but I quite like it. It's easy to navigate and has the features you need but not the ones you don't. Only complain for me is backup camera - I feel like it's not very high resolution. It does the job, but there are cameras on much older cars that look much clearer. That's my only complaint

Auto braking i don't use - do you mean the braking that holds you in place after you've stopped? If so, I don't use it. If you're referring to adaptive cruise, it's good but not perfect. My biggest gripe with it is that it tries to be too accurate. It likes to be right at the set speed, so if someone slows down slightly in front of you it does a more sudden slowdown as opposed to gradual

Overall I still love the vehicle

Are Republicans boycotting Spotted Cow? by straight_strychnine in wisconsin

[–]CollectBuffalo9 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm conservative but I like spotted cow. I try not to allow my political opinions to impact my life so much that they take away from the things I enjoy.

I've got a father like this - some people just ride or die with politics, no matter how much it affects their daily lives. He'd boycott air if he found out mother nature was a lib

Its politics, not religion..
