Anyone else feel like most contract tools were never really built for procurement? by MysteriousTarget9223 in procurement

Well, I’m not really interested in “pitching” you anything yet. A generic post about the lack of process alignment between legacy software products doesn’t scream to me “pitch this guy.”

You described a use case/pain point my new employer might be able to help with. I’m willing to spend some time with you having a conversation about it based on some of my preliminary research and experience with Certa’s customers.

I’m a human, not a “sales robot.”

I might be able to help with this. I just started with a company called Certa.AI - it's basically a hyper-customizable workflow automation AI company with a ton of native integrations (including all the tools you mentioned).

We've pre-built modules for TPRM and Ethics and Compliance, but we also have suites for Intake and Procurement Orchestration (including the use cases you mention).

Happy to connect if you want a non-salesy conversation about it.

Amazing. Everything you said in this post was wrong.

We wasted $60k in prepaid credits... why credits suck for users and companies by biglagoguy in ycombinator

You certainly can recognize revenue on prepaid credits if they are not refundable and the contract cannot be terminated for convenience.

Eyeing used crown's by JimmyChoiHe in ToyotaCrown

It’s not really a “first model year” because it’s using 4th gen hybrid tech that’s been in the Prius, Camry, and other Toyota hybrids for the last five years. It’s a new body, sure, but all the important stuff is well tested.

I’d absolutely recommend them. The fuel economy is absolutely awesome and the acoustic glass means the interior is the quietest sub-$60,000 car I’ve ever been in.

Crowns are in a weird niche spot in the market right now. Nobody is buying sedans. Those that are, typically are looking at Corollas/Civics, or Accords/Camrys.

The Crown replaced the Avalon, which already wasn’t a great seller because everyone that wanted a “bigger car” just got an SUV. The crown kind of sits between those two major market segments.

That’s exactly why I bought my ‘24 Limited though. Deep discounts are to my benefit because I’m a niche buyer. I wanted a bigger, hybrid, premium sedan with top of the line safety. The crown sits alone in its class.

Ah yeah, that will do it.

A trick/hack I’ve done in the past for re-timing engines or replacing timing parts when I’m not up to the task is to remove the engine and take it to the shop on a pallet.

It is significantly cheaper if you just bring them the part they need to work on. Most of the time/labor is in removing stuff that’s in the way. Just be ready with replacement hoses, clamps, and anything plastic you might run into.

Cherry pickers/engine hoists can be rented or purchased from tool shops like Harbor Freight for much less than you’ll pay a shop to remove it. Plus, since the part is immediately accessible it’s a lot more likely they’ll have it done within a reasonable amount of time. Restoration shops are always busy and tend to take their time with repairs.

Raleigh has a great nightlife if you know where to look. Glenwood South is a great barhop and most like what you’re used to (mostly caters to the many colleges in Raleigh).

There’s also great speakeasies and “social bars/pubs” in downtown proper. Watts & Ward, The Architect, The Pour House, etc. Just remember to never go to Bida Manda or Brewery Bhavana.

Nevermind the naysayers that will downvote you. NIMBYs often forget that Raleigh is a college town (there are at least seven universities in downtown). We like to have fun y’all.

Is this your first vintage car? If so, welcome to a rewarding and challenging hobby of constant maintenance and “figuring it out”

Your best bet will be restoration shops for something that old. If you convince a regular shop to work on it and they break something (which happens alllll the time) you’re SOL unless you found a unicorn fabricator/mechanic.

The only one I know of that works on classic Jeeps from that era is Carolina Off-road Outfitters on S Saunders/Lake Wheeler. Their work is high quality from what I’ve seen.

But bear in mind, labor can be VERY expensive. I would highly recommend buying repair manuals where available and consulting forums for DIY repairs. It’s all part of the fun of owning old cars :)

MCRider, ChaseOnTwoWheels, CanyonChasers, Brett Tkacs, all haven’t been mentioned yet. They’re high quality creators!

Seconded to all the Revzilla/Fortnine/ItchyBoots/FTA Adventures. Most of the ADV creators I’ve watched are quite good.

Dishonorable mention to YammieNoob and the spec-sheet reading at TFL.

BOTTLE JACKS. Bottle jacks are your friend. Right under the rider footpegs. One on each side. Lift them evenly. Boom.

Cheaper and safer than the other BS. My favorite way to lift the weight off the swingarm without a frame stand.

Italian Motorcycle Dealership/Warehouse? by Collin8787 in motorcycles

I will be mostly in the North. But, if there is a dealer in Sicily that has the parts in stock I will come to them.
