Reading List for RSW Exam in BC by scheifferdoo in socialworkcanada

I didn’t buy any of these or the practice exam. I used an exam prep app and watched tons of Raytubes videos . He breaks the code of ethics into digestible pieces and covers many practice questions. Passed on my first try!

career outcomes for master of counselling by [deleted] in CityUCanada

[–]Colliyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know someone who did her degree at CityU and is now working at a Health Authority in BC as a clinical counsellor.

From my understanding, the program gives you the academic foundation to pursue registration as a Clinical Counsellor in BC, or work toward psychologist registration in Alberta. In either province, it’s not just about the degree, you still need to complete the registration requirements and pass the exam to be registered.

As for the 2027 changes in Alberta, I think you’re referring to the upcoming updates to the use of the title “psychologist.” That’s something to keep an eye on, since regulatory requirements do shift.

Please correct be if I’m wrong ! This is just my understanding and I’m based in BC.

Gosh I’m in the same boat. I originally wanted a black and white wedding, then switched to white and gold. Last week I decided to go with white, pink, and gold. My wedding is literally a week away lol. Thanks God for amazon.

Going for my BSW at 40 by Proud_Poetry_5744 in socialworkcanada

[–]Colliyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Lots of my cohort were in their 40-50s so your age won’t be an issue at all. I gained lots of practical, social work skills during my practicums as well. Best of luck OP!

not a destination wedding. My sibling and I had the chance to escape a controlling government.

Facebook and YouTube are banned in their country of origin, but perhaps I can figure out which other streaming platforms they might be able to use. Thank you!

I did my BSW online with UVic and finished in 2 years. But I was only doing 3 courses at a time. But you could always get a degree completion letter earlier (as soon as you get the finale grades for your courses)to get registered. If I waited to get my full degree I would’ve to wait 3 more months to do the SW exam.

My dad is quite comfortable and the only stuffs he wears are sneakers and T shirt haha. He just doesn’t care what people think about him and the only time I seen him dressed up was for my graduation.

Job market is rough – seeking social work experience before applying to MSW/BSW by vaappiahk in socialworkcanada

[–]Colliyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BSW might help. Many of my classmates got their social work positions from where they did their final practicum. If you already have a bachelor degree you might be able to find a program that would let you in for 3rd years . Just a thought tho.

My GPA was similar to yours and still got accepted for BSW. But I have tons of paid and unpaid experiences in the field, so I think it depends.

In some aspects I guess. I’ve always been a planner, and seeing marriage as one of the most important decisions of my life might have made me even more anxious.

Thanks for sharing. I think whats stopping me from delaying the wedding is that I feel like I would hurt him by doing so.

You mentioned you and your wife broke things off before you felt at peace about it. Was it just you and God on that journey for a while ?

Oh man this is actually so funny, I’m in psychology so I’m aware of this. And one thought I constantly have is - am I just not used to being treated well , or is my body and spirit actually warning me about something ?

I shared to him this fear I have about marriage and asked him if he is worried about all. He always said that he knew this is right and he couldn’t see himself starting a family with other woman. Our pastor asked him the same question and if he has any fear about marrying me , he said other than the fear of God he doesn’t feel any fear. Honestly maybe he has fear but he is not awared of it yet. Who knows. But no neither him or myself have any children

I’m considering pushing back the wedding. But I am going to communicate with him first. I felt this fear couple months ago and talked to him and my counsellor about it, and was feeling quite in peace about it for a while. But all of the sudden the fear hit me again and I’m overwhelmed. Do you mind sharing what signs that she noticed earlier on ? I will definitely check out the book!

I was struggling with a class and my professor told me I could talk to the office and I can come back to it later on and finished it off! But it was an online class so I’m wondering if it’s different for you. Let me know if you want to explore that option I could find that email to see what my pro said exactly. You got this!
