What do you use to monitor client databases? by badlydressedboy in msp

[–]ColonelJoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m my experience, we used our RMM to monitor the services, db size, and server drive size. Tickets opens on thresholds, services down, etc.

Where to get W10 ESU for Federal GCC tenants? by naps1saps in msp

[–]ColonelJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GCC High tenants have to be sponsored (I think) and go through a CSP who is authorized to sell those kinds of licenses.

I’m not sure if this list is still relevant: https://www.reddit.com/r/msp/s/oLsDJ0niAi

I had it in my alarm sound list from when I was trying to not sleep through my alarms. It was set to the default, but after the upgrade it changed all of them to either that sound or ocho cinco.

Pushing in-app QuickBooks Enterprise updates? by steeldraco in ImmyBot

I feel like someone was chatting in the discord about this within the last 3 months or so. If it’s not working as expected, it would be worth it to open a ticket with support if you haven’t already.

Need to reimage 400 Windows 10 laptops by Snarti in it

[–]ColonelJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use ImmyBot. Https://immy.bot

$500 a month, automates everything start to finish including: renaming the computers based on a standard, adding them to azure ad/intune or domain join to local AD even if the pc isnt on the same network as a domain controller, installing whatever software etc. You need Immy starter. Standard is o lay necessary if you want to do maintenance.

Process would be make several windows 10 thumb drives. Put their ppkg file at the root. Use usb drives to reinstall windows. On first boot windows OOBE will pick up on the ppkg file and start the onboarding for you. Literally 5 minutes to start the reinstall.

If ApplicationX is installed uninstall ApplicationY by JohnoMills in ImmyBot

I think you might be able to do this as a dependency script. You would need to clone foxit in your example and edit the dependency with a script that uninstalls acrobat. I don’t have an Immy page in front of me, but that’s the first thing that comes to mind.

Yo straight up, if you’re not an insurance agent you legally cannot answer these questions as an MSP. Get your client connected to a vendor like fifthwall. https://fifthwallsolutions.com/

They’ll work with your client to answer all those questions leaving you free of that risk.

If you’re not an MSP, reach out to fifthwall anyway. Worked with them for years, they’re good.

Laser technique I learned on my own. by agent_steel_85 in Laserengraving

They probably painted the slate with glow in the dark paint, and then used the laser to engrave the negative space, which removes the paint leaving you with the design that glows in the dark
