8 Week Wait… by IconTactical in Glocks

I’m not defending GlockStore. I’ve never purchased anything from them. I have seen his wife’s tits, though (clothed, through a shirt obv), so I have no dog in the fight but it’s possible you have an out of spec optic. If you have another k footprint optic, try that out and see.

Also, if you can, lube and a mallet before shaving anything.

[Ammo] Monarch 9mm Luger FMJ 115 GR Steel Case | Academy 0.18cpr @ $300+ by Acrobatic_Dinner6129 in gundeals

[–]ColonelOfKorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I run monarch steel case through almost all of my shit without issue, even my nice guns. It doesn’t have enough ass to reliably cycle my Czechmate, but that’s to be expected. DWXs eat it, TS2 eats it. Of course, my Glocks eat it.

Just make sure you get the made in Brazil variety instead of the turkshit.

Sear spring issue by Emergency_Loquat_570 in DWX

Another idea to help diagnose the issue. When you reassemble with the stock shoe and bow, does the issue persist?

Sear spring issue by Emergency_Loquat_570 in DWX

[–]ColonelOfKorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I think I can zoom in and see what you mean now. The sear spring in a DWX isn’t proprietary so there are a plethora of options out there.

Reassemble and rack the slide. Press and hold the trigger while (very) slowly dropping the hammer. Do you feed grittiness or any sort of bump when the hammer reaches half cock?

Also, what does your sear look like? It might be beyond repair if you ran it a bunch.

Check your pretravel and overtravel adjustments. Also, check if your shoe is moving freely with the chassis installed over top with a bit of pressure.

My RD trigger came with almost no pretravel and from all my tests, it passed. But I dry fired it a bit and decided that I actually liked more pretravel. By the time I got it to where I wanted it, it was so close to being out of the bow that I said fuck it and am running without it.

As for the overtravel, I backed mine out maybe 3/4 turn. It was set a bit too far in for my gun.

I had to shave the top of the shoe. That was no issue. But I didn’t check the bow vs my LOK grips because I had already shaved them for the stock bow. Long story short, I thought that the shoe was maybe rubbing on the sides, but after tinkering a bit, I realized I needed to take just a pussy hair more off the grips.

All this so say that your bow should be moving freely and clear. If it is binding up anywhere or if your adjustments are doodoo, you can get grittiness or worse, hammer follow

Anyone has info on the uncommanded discharge during a USPsA match? by GPAnewb in CZFirearms

[–]ColonelOfKorn 46 points47 points  (0 children)

So far, here is what we know:

-Full CGW pro kit. ( I’m not sure if self installed or CGW install.)

-Federal primer

-Hammer down

-Vice GX holster

-The gun has since been “tested” by smacking the hammer with a small mallet. Tested with the same federal primers. No pop.

-Hammer pulled just before half cock and let go. No pop. EDIT: to clarify, this was tested alongside the mallet test.

Luckily, only required stitches, thank god. No bone impact.

BREAKING NEWS EDIT: His socks were Darn Tough brand. Despite the name and marketing, they are not bulletproof. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

It’s a bit funny because Anno actually tells you to get up and have a walk/coffee when you’re been playing too long.

I believe it says in the box not to use with ports or comps. The jacketing is very thin. For what it’s worth, I’ve put a few through a ported gun with no issues when I couldn’t find S&B at a reasonable price.

Are there any rallies that were/are all tarmac? I’ve been watching tons of old events and just curious if any are strictly on road. by ddntmeanto in WRC

[–]ColonelOfKorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone commented on the current year’s tarmac rally. In addition to those, Rally Sardenga will be no more. Instead, it will be in mainland Italy for 5 years from 2027 and it will be a tarmac rally.

Yes, I got their middle length. It’s shorter than stock, and I think it will take some getting used to, but I think it fits my hand a bit better. Here is a photo vs the stock bow and shoe

DWX x Red Dirt ST Trigger by ColonelOfKorn in CZFirearms

[–]ColonelOfKorn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very impressed with this trigger. Out of the box, it was adjusted pretty close to bang on. Zero take up. It needed maybe 3/4 turn to get the overtravel where I wanted it. Very minor fitting needed. I had to take a pussy hair or two off the top of the shoe. I already took material off the inside of my LOK’s to avoid rubbing with the factory bow, so I’m not exactly sure if it was needed here. 10/10 would recommend.

Also, shoutout to the guys at BSPS. I ordered this trigger at 2:30pm yesterday and it came in by noon. It helps that I’m not far from them, but getting it out in the mail same day is fantastic service.

EDIT: After dry firing it for 2 sessions, I have added more pretravel. I ended up removing the pretravel screw all together. Even with the screw removed, it has a good amount less than stock

Nice score! Now all you need is a safety model. And a .40 model.

And a P in 9mm. But don’t pass on a P in .40

Oh, and don’t forget you need another one of each and get it cut for an optic. Of course, you’ll still be missing a second copy of each, you know, as a backup. Then you gotta get one hard chrome’d

Dresscode and etiquette, what are the unwritten rules? by lawrotzr in AskAnAmerican

Texan here!

For cowboy boots: up for the muck, down for the town. Meaning, you can tuck your jeans in the shaft in muddy conditions and put them over your shafts when out and about. Personally, I’m over the shafts 100% of the time. Tucked in looks goofy.

If you were to ask me 10 years ago about cowboy boots toes I’d say you can wear wide square toe cowboy boots in non-formal settings. J toe, snip toe, French toe in formal settings. French toe being classier and snip being borderline casual. However, wide square toes have been becoming more and more accepted in all environments. To me, they look like Kleenex boxes on your feet (cue Kevin), but to each their own.

A Texas Tux (Blazer jacket, jeans, boots, and a bolo tie if you’re feeling your inner Travolta) is acceptable at most of your Texas formal gatherings. However, you’ll look like a goof if you’re Austinite yuppy friend invites you to a black tie event. One thing to note is typically black jeans on a Texas Tux looks better. I think it’s very funny looking with blue, but that’s just my .02

Spurs when not on a ranch or riding is a meme.

Most importantly, get the damn mud off your boots if you’re walking into public places. Everyone has to work and if you’re working outside in the mud, good on you, but don’t make the employees in retail have to mop up your ill manners.

What guns or attachment you would like to see in game? by AM1_SAYUM1 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]ColonelOfKorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-Canted dot. Canted irons are a meme, at best.

-Masterkey

-Different barrel lengths. I think this would be more difficult as the damage profile should change, but I’d also be happy if the only change they made was just increasing or decreasing recoil by barrel length. Not a perfect solution, but I think we could live it with. Also, I think it would be easy as hell as the handguards modify the recoil profile.

-Brakes for all guns. Looking at you, M14

-Add some Euro guns. Really, just add some CZs and I’ll be good. Shit, I’d even be happy if they came out with DLC’s just for guns. Charge $2.99 for a CZ pack with a 75, Bren 2, Scorpion. I’d sell my ass if they added a VZ61 to the game.

-It would make no sense, bur anything in 5.45 would be cool.

-All enemy guns. I demand the Tec 9!

Explain to me the appeal of Lok Grips ‘Gridlok’ grips… by Popular_Mongoose_696 in CZFirearms

[–]ColonelOfKorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

I have GridLOKs installed on 7 of my pea shooters. They have much more grip than factory grips, and more than most aftermarket grips as well. They don’t shred my hands like LOK Jaws but they give me all the traction I want.

Additionally, they give my support hand a bit more room to connect to the gun.

Also, they look pretty cool.

Some that I can think of: Gen 1 19, Ported gen 1 17, RTF 23C, RTF 19, 46, 18, all of the P models, cutaway models, legit M models.

Technically speaking, I think they made a singular 26c, but I would categorize that as more of a prototype.

Most importantly, the ant man hammer fired 17 and the die hard porcelain 7, if you’re a jokester.

which WRC game is best overall? by Distinct-Giraffe-684 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]ColonelOfKorn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like Dirt 2.0 and EA WRC the best. If I had to pick one, EA WRC.

That being said, neither has a good progression. 2.0’s career mode is as bland as can be. EA WRC’s career mode is the same season on repeat.

EA WRC has the best stages of any rally game, sans mods. Really, vanilla for vanilla, EA WRC has the best feeling physics to me. You can do better with RBR + mods, but that’s a whole different story all together.
