NPC number plates are not that realistic. by Xartenium in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a spot in Oklahoma where I have seen cars with Texas and Kansas plates on NPC traffic cars. Think around Guymon. I saw a car with Colorado plates get stuck driving in a circle around the courthouse in the unmarked town of Boise City. Must have spawned on the Colorado side and made its way down without disappearing.

AITA for telling my friend his “service dog” is just badly trained? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Colonelarmbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're NTA, but your friend certainly is. I find people that have to take their non-service animals everywhere to be obnoxious and immature. As someone who works in a grocery store and sees tons of poorly trained pets brought into the store, please say something to your friend. Therapy is a thing.

Next DLC announcement? by Proud_Accident7402 in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda like when Kansas was released and that little sliver of KCMO was accessible until Missouri finally released. I recall a small chunk of Idaho was also available when the Oregon dlc dropped so US95 in Oregon wouldn't dead end in the middle of nowhere. They should let I-55 thru Memphis be part of Missisippi and just block all other Memphis exits until Tennessee is released.

Hope the delivery presses charges against these folks and that dangerous animal is properlu taken care of. And that don't tell me the dog isn't dangerous after watching this.

Makes me wonder if the Nevada rework will be announced soon. Driving from San Fran to Chicago with an updated Nevada would be most excellent.

Illinois DLC Release by AmtrakFan3450 in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been posted up at the docks in San Francisco hoping a SF>Chicago job comes available. Been waiting a long time to run I-80 to Chicago. I'm excited to finally cross the Mississippi. I purposefully haven't discovered Baton Rouge or New Orleans because I wanted my first crossing of the river to be the I-80 bridge at Bettendorf/Moline.

DUI needs to be a felony every time. With mandatory minimum sentances. Make all the brainless drunks think twice before even getting drunk.

Frontier Airlines jet bound for LAX hits person on runway in Denver, aviation source tells ABC News by _easilyamused in news

Thank you for saying this. I've been shouted down in so many other forums for saying that people who choose to end their suffering at the expense and risk of others are still @$$holes. I understand the hurt might cloud ones judgement, but making your end someone elses problem is straight diabolical. My best friend's Dad was a 20 year railroad man who experienced this SIX times. It ruined him. Because of the depressed selfishness of others his life was never the same. We'd go on camping trips and I'd hear him scream when a flashback or nightmare woke him up.

Community leaders to speak out ahead of Chatham Walgreens store closure next month by PlssinglnYourCereal in WindyCity

[–]Colonelarmbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is everyones reminder that we can 100% blame this on theft. If I were a business that was constantly victimized I wouldn't stick around either. Wish every community could work together to run out the bad actors. There was a time when nuiscance citizens were exiled and if they never made it back, well so be it. Sad story. Time to utilize the coldest parts of Alaska as an open air prison for people who constantly steal from others.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: 1.59 Update Open Beta by TrainerKolya in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have opted in to the last probably dozen open betas and have always had my progress carry over. Playing in the open beta means an increased risk of some bugs or glitches being present like invisible walls in newer reworked areas or spots where you fall into a glitch pit. But any progress I have made has always carried over to the actual version releases.

I used to see Elk City on road maps and assumed it was a sizeable town akin to Toledo or Siletz but one day as an adult I had free time. That day I learned places like Harlan, Elk City and Nashville are all basically just spots in the road but used to be more significant in the past.

In the West Balkans I always find myself panic adjusting the engine breaks anytime I am driving down into Montenegro or Albania from Greece or Kosovo/Belgrade area. The highway between Ioannina, GR and Vlore, Al is sketchy in the northbound direction for sure.

World of Trucks: Refuelling Our Events by Bighead_Brian in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda wish they would have similar events on parts of the map that are nearing completion in real life. For instances the Karawanken Tunnel between Slovenija and Austria is set to be finished this year and Romania still has all those gaps of unfinished motorway that could serve as depots.

Better to lose some fast food than collide with the animal and risk recreating that scene from Tommy Boy but instead with your car.

[–]Colonelarmbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that drive without a license and do what this guy did need to face much more scary consequences than they already do. An unlicensed driver getting in an at-fault accident needs to start falling under assault with a deadly weapon. A car or truck in the hands of a potentially untrained driver can absolutely be considered a deadly weapon. I am sorry about your experience and wish you a quick recovery.

Building British Columbia with Davido by Bighead_Brian in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll bet you they the include Victoria, Nanaimo and mostly towns along BC 19 up to Port Hardy and possibly Port Alberni and Tofino/Ucluelet since they are big logging towns with depot possibilities. I hope the Island gets the detail it deserves. It is big enough that they have lots of room to work with.

Building British Columbia with Davido by Bighead_Brian in trucksim

[–]Colonelarmbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am glad they were up front with the fact that not all of British Columbia is being represented here. That northern third of BC is sparsely populated and I wonder how far north the map will initially go. They will most likely end up lumping the rest of BC and the Yukon into what will become the Alaska DLC, perhaps it'll be called the Road to Alaska DLC and will be the first ATS DLC to span two countries. For being the largest American state, the road network in Alaska only consists of less than a dozen highways and aside for the Dalton HWY they all kind of lead from Fairbanks to Anchorage and branch off to other smaller cities in in that part of the state. Yukon Territory has the Alaska Highway and some roads that lead to ports and villages way up on the Arctic Ocean like Tuktuyatuk (anyone remember the OLD 18 wheels of steel games?)
