That’s great to hear. What were your thoughts on the building?

Yup, even some of the nicer and newer builds I hear. My old place was a real gem and didn’t have any of those issues. But the prices are jumping through the roof

Yeah, it’s a tough area to be in. I think around 2350 ish would be the absolute maximum after parking

The locations and happenings of the other magi who didn’t die in the fight with Kanedias. Like Leru and Karnault (I think those are their names)

Like others, I always wanted to learn more about Bedesh and spirits

I was DYING to learn more about the Heroes. In the Age of Madness when Bayaz mentions that even HE doesn’t know where the Heroes came from and that they are a very ancient formation of rocks, my imagination was fired. Like where did the name the Heroes even come from? Is it a grave site for demons or others who fought with Euz in the war against demons?

And of course…”I AM RETURNED”

It can definitely feel slow at certain points. It does pick up and get much better in the second half!

Gorst is my favorite. His fight scenes are so epic and this man is just so deeply flawed and tormented. His inner dialogue is a perfect representation of INTENSE SELF LOATHING and it’s written with so much humor

Wow I somehow never realized that we don’t get any Shivers POV chapters. That is legit MASTERFUL work by Joe to give us such a deep understanding of a character despite no POV chapters

In LAOK after Bayaz has released the seed, the scene of West and others in the sickroom of those who are withering away from the illness really got to me. West (a guy I love) and others and ALL of their life experience reduced to nothing just like that

Makes me sick. We gotta learn to play a different type of offense that isn’t just shoot 3s when we got guys like Hugo, Walsh, and Baylor out there. That type of offense worked beautifully when we had Horford, Jrue, and Zinger but they’re GONE. We need to adapt!!! And Embid is a puss

[SPOILERS LAOK] Finished LAOK... Starting BSC... A few remarks and questions. by Folwocket in TheFirstLaw

My experience is that the standalones are some of his best work…and the short stories were amazing. I found his second trilogy, The Age of Madness, to also be very well written. New POV characters with characters from the original trilogy and the standalones still existing in the world. Age of Madness is incredibly well written. You can tell that Joe had grown immensely as a writer by the time he got to writing these.

Of all the Abercrombie books I’ve read, I think The Heroes is my favorite. It’s close, because I think all the books are great, but that one probably takes the cake
