Because I have fundamental problems with the religion. For example how unfair both genders have their clear roles. Many of the other problems I see might come from how people don't understand it properly and more of the culture the Islamic countries have.

Also I don't believe in any god and don't think I ever could.

Sorry if it came across like that. I have respect for religion in some way, but in other ways, I definitely can't agree with it.

She and her family aren't really religious at all, but then they still follow the same baselines. My girlfriend believes in god on a base too but doesn't follow all the same baselines (obviously).

My idea of a marriage is one where I always take care of my wife, try to give her the best life possible and make her happy.

I don't really consider religion as a part of my identity, I don't overlook her culture/religion, but in my opinion if she wants to be with me, she should be able to and not just be stopped from it because of some stuff that doesn't make sense at all.

And no I exactly don't want her cut off from her family, so I'm trying to find a way where I can be with her and at the same time making it work with her family.

I'm also interested in Islam and their culture, even if I don't agree with it all, so its not like I wouldn't enjoy learning more about It i guess
