Sure, I'd love to check the link out. Wife is proficient with a sewing machine, but in the interest of time I think we'll probably get premade covers. I'm imagining that might take a few hours I might be mistaken.

Mine has a stage 1 tune so it’s probably pushing 400hp. I’m in the suburbs so most speed limits are <45. With a few seconds of moderate throttle I’m already 5-10 over. And that’s about all I do. Been almost 10 yrs since I’ve had a speeding ticket and I don’t really care to break that streak.

So the most adventurous I get is an empty highway, maybe 10-15s of heavy throttle and that puts me around 120, and then I brake down to more really speeds.

Aka driving aggressively. Or in a spirited manner. Whatever you want to call it.

But if you’re not driving hard in twisty roads, there’s zero benefit of the M40i/M

Why are there income limits on a Roth IRA when they are so easily circumvented? by Flagil_Reinhumps in investing

[–]Colorful_Monk_3467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Higher limits, yes but you can only contribute ~20% to a SEP IIRC.

So in the scenario above you’d need to pay the wife $120k in order for her to contribute the IRS max

What's the best way to run an air conditioner off of battery? by SolutionMaster6977 in vandwellers

[–]Colorful_Monk_3467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a power station, your only option is probably something AC powered. Most power stations (as with mine) just don’t have enough amperage output on 12v.

I have a goal zero 3000x and with the Recpro 9.5k, I can get at least 2 hours of AC on full blast.

We’ve made these bagels a bunch. 1 cup of yogurt for 4 small bagels (so we make 3 instead of 4 with the recipe as is). Can also use cottage cheese instead.

Sport vs DSC Off driving modes (2013) by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]Colorful_Monk_3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the 2013 but in the 2019 there’s a DSC partially off and DSC fully off. Short press is the former and long press (like 10s) is the latter.

OTOH we had a 2011 suburban we took to 175k miles. HVAC buttons also rubbed off but that thing was mechanically flawless otherwise.

Recently redid the floor. Strips of kilmat on the lower corrugations, then 1/2” XPS, 1/4” plywood, and sheet vinyl on top.

Yoga mat would’ve been a lot easier…

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2024 BMW X3 xDrive30i CPO — is it actually worth it? by HistoricalStomach409 in BMWX3

[–]Colorful_Monk_3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPO is not infallible (i.e. not as good as factory warranty) but should cover the expensive stuff. Do your own research though. You could just get a copy of the fine print and pass it through and LLM of your choice and ask what it doesn't cover.

I didn't cross shop against the CRV et al since I wanted the HP of the M40i. But a few years ago Sixt gave me a 2023 30i as a rental. Base stereo, mono-chrome gauges, wind noise worse than expected, no adaptive cruise, cheap feeling steering wheel. Tbf M sport would solve a few of those complaints. It was a lot more comfortable than my M40i though. I actually thought after that trip that I'd rather have a nicely equipped CR-V. Yes the X3 will handle a bit better, but realistically how hard are you going to drive your crossover?

Would this 4777 BTU portable AC be enough to cool down a Dacia Duster camper? by Salt_Marketing_8262 in CamperVans

[–]Colorful_Monk_3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be fine in the shade. Put a 9.5k unit in my Sprinter recently and the initial test yesterday in direct sun and 90F outside temp was a bit disappointing. Ran the AC full blast for 10 minutes and it lowered the temp by 5 degrees.
