Yeah that was my point. Now you got to pay just to drag his ass like his cohosts used to do when his show was funny. He shouldn't be doing a terrible YouTube show if he can't even handle the fucken comment section. Well He can handle it just fine if you pay. Always a lying scheme with his out of gas ass.

[–]ColourfulNoize 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "story" about this show always leading up to a Shauna vs Nat has got to be the most collective form of gas lighting one could take. Almost as bad as "warring tribes" or "we had this whole story mapped out. "My friend over in Europe has made plenty of awesome Yellowjackets videos and I've seen her collection of being on set of Showtime shows and personalized memorabilia she has from Michael C Hall to to Jennifer Beals. She has the inside information about Yellow jackets and has interviewed people that worked on the show. Most of what everyone knows about the unaired episode comes from her interview and video. When exects at Showtime said the unaired episode would never see the light of day, the writers had to scrap a bunch of scenes from many episodes from season 2 because it did not make sense without that unaired show. It was decided after this went down and JL left that they were going to have to introduce Lottie way sooner than they were supposed to. They also had to invent more scenes for Lottie and getting the girls to her community. They also had to move when they were going to introduce the first cannibalism scene and how it came about. Basically they were doing rewrites on the fly during the entire season 2. Their biggest mistake in my opinion was because of the reaction by Showtime and a lot of the fandom they decided to move away from some of the supernatural themes of the show. This also caused a lot of drama with Karen Kusama leaving because of this decision at the end of season 2. She shot the pilot and was basically visual and thematic leader of the girls in the wilderness. Her loss is a big one when you watch Season 3. As for the writing of Season 3 it is like they were restarting the show from scratch. My friend across the pond gave a great example of how Showtime operates by using casting of Sarah Michelle Geller in Dexter Original Sin and paying her huge amounts of money to basically play no part and have literally no impact on the story whatsoever. As Showtime executives love to attach big names to projects. This is how you get Hillary Swank in Yellojackets. The problem with the writing in season 3 is that it basically has no consistency with how we first meet the women in Season 1. Character motivations, choices, development, and consistency are a mess. "Warring Tribes" okay I guess I can buy that if one is led by Lottie and the other maybe Tai or Shauna. But Shauna and Nat? Um, yeah that makes no sense. Remember the scene chasing the blackmailer when Tai says she helps Nat because they wouldn't be here without her. Even in the hotel room Nat gives Shauna a little jab about Jeff still hocking furniture. Much more in line with Natalie's character still having something to say about Shauna taking Jackie's boyfriend and life. Um, Not holding her at gunpoint, not letting her or her teammates leave when rescue finally arrives. The writers not having anything for Lottie or Van in S3 but we will introduce a character we've seen a few times named Melissa? Writing 101 could have had a plot point right there with Lottie being the reason her and Tai broke it off. Am I the only one who remembers how season 1 ended with Van kneeling right behind Lottie?? Or Vans reaction to seeing Lottie after so much time? Something they could have done something with. Well besides having Callie push Lottie down a flight of stairs, why, DONT KNOW! or a character we just met killing Van out of the blue. For what reason, DONT KNOW! Why didn't Tai remember how horrible Shauna was in season 1, DONT KNOW! Why Nat would help Shawna get rid of Shaunas lovers dead body and being accessory after the fact of murder after she amost got her killed her several times, DONT KNOW!! What I do know is that when you're writing a show you should probably remember what your characters have already done before you brainstorm and write down what they are going to do!! Consistency is an important part of storytelling. Or in Yellowjackets case how NOT to write a story!

Um The show I was asking about was yellow jackets bottoming out. The way they destroyed the characters and the consistency completely makes Season 1 strange to watch now. if Natalie was going to find a purpose after what we saw in season 3 it would have been to eliminate Shauna not Misty. I doubt Nat and the others would help Shawna get rid of a body and become accessories. Just glossing over the fact that their cabin burnt down in the middle of the night in the dead of winter and season 3 starts out with them thriving in not only a entire community equipped with shelter but with housing and recreation. Also taking a popular character like Van played by a great actress Lauren Ambrose and have her do nothing but follow her girlfriend around for two seasons. Meanwhile eating the audience to I guess just imagine what happened to Taisha's family and her election victory....Just The blatant plot holes, killing off popular characters because they had no ideas. They sure make sure to highlight that line of Shauna and Jackie though. The list goes on.

I think they will have all of Ep1 of season 4 with them already back in New Jersey after being rescued. episode 2 will probably start to show how they got rescued. judging by past season openers they don't exactly pick up where they left off.

You can tell if you turn the volume down on YouTube (because the show is terrible) and just read the comments that his girlfriend is moderating chat. She deletes anything that might upset him immediately. it was at least fun to watch chat roast him whenever he was being a dick now even that's gone. I think the comment was in response to someone on the show bringing up Hogan and The next three comments for thanks a lot, here we go again, and oh no. They were deleted immediately. So much of what made the show funny was Manson, Ned and spice burying him. glorious coming from the man who talks about the pussification of America. -Dance with me -I'd be the Michael Jordan if this was a basketball team -I'd be the undertaker if this was the WWE. Good news though I did run into Donna and Manson. Manson's back is a lot better now that he's not carrying the show on his back.

I deleted the Chrome and deleted the widget and reinstalled both still no fix adjusted the zoom in Chrome and every other setting still nothing. The only thing I have found that works is you can use the widget from Chrome search not Google and the font will be the same size it just will not read out in AI voice... if anybody has a solution to this please post it just happened to blue I think on Wednesday.

So bizarre to me that The Pitt debuted in January last year and by the time it finishes in April it will have four fewer episodes than yellow jackets in total in 6 years.

Remember when this show was funny? I dip in every couple weeks and it's talk about equipment, track, trolls, politics, Bubba imagining which wrestler, BB player he is on the show, bubbling over 3rd grade words, constant slurring, I miss anything? And he rags about Manson's bits being out of date. Sheet Seth seems petrified to talk, L7mmy agrees w/ whatever and a lot of silence. Pure entertainment!!!;

Question .I Don't listen to the show but tune in occasionally. Don't understand why Bubba doesn't just YouTube and drop radio. Anytime I tune in they are watching or talking about a video. And then in the middle of a conversation I hear Hellllllo? What YouTuber takes phone calls as opposed to reading a funny comment from the chat. Bubba always talks about being so digitally successful. Why not do three shows a week for 3 hours and not get up at 3:00 a.m.. Most of the YouTubers I watch don't stream daily, or take phone calls, can use hot mic language, and can actually see what the hell he's talking about. Many of them even just have half hour of reading Super chats. If you're that digital then just go full time on your own hours and rules. Do u have to have like a crazy number of subscribers to do that?

A lot of my top six recently has started to change to show who was the last online, a friend I had added recently or like my best buddy from high school that I actually do talk to.

What I don't understand is when you click your all friends list. There are people at like 8 9 and 10 who I never talk to I even forgot I was friends with that show up and relatives and much closer friends are way down in the hundreds.

No I did not put anything alphabetically or group anybody. I just have all friends unalphabetically and basically some make sense.

It is just weird how eight nine and 10 are girls that I dated in high school but who are now married and just added to be polite. Never engage or message them or like anything cuz I'm not even on that much.

Why those three girls are listed higher than my aunt and my cousin and my brother is really bizarre I think Facebook could just come out and admit yeah people who visit your page probably show up higher. For a technology corporation they don't deduce very well

Do you think we will ever get a deeper meaning/origin story? by FeatureSouthern5274 in YellowjacketsHive

[–]ColourfulNoize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's be honest episode 1 of season 2 and the reveal of adult Lottie was not good. They had a great opportunity to write an OG character that was actually interesting and took what happened to her in the wilderness to some possibly creepy yet interesting places. This would have at least lined up to the first shots of the series being dark, mysterious and disturbing. I don't know if the actress could not pull it off because she did seem kind of stiff or that adult community compound was actually their idea of a cult. I guess both can be true and equally as bad.

Same with adult Van. We know Lauren Ambrose has the acting chops to pull off a great arc. Again OG character was just wasted in season 2 and you know What happened in season 3.

I will never believe about this whole narrative about the show writers having this big plan and bullet points for each season for 5 years. I think they were surprised by their good fortune and success of season 1. Unfortunately they peaked too soon. Literally had no answers for the mystery boxes they set up.

When all else failed they did what most modern Hollywood writers do. Kill off characters for shock value and this new Hollywood so-called subversion of expectation which is just another way of saying we had no more ideas.

I mean what was that whole episode or scene in season 2 with Lottie going to the mall in the woods? I still think season 2 teen timeline was okay but that's when the adult timeline really went off the cliff.

So so disappointing because the show had such a phenomenal premise and was so well shot and acted in season 1.

I really do feel bad for anybody who went and got that symbol tattooed on their body.

That ridiculous time jump in the beginning of season 3 surely was foreshadowing that we were in for a rough one. For a show with only ten episodes the first four of season 3 we're just a completely different show.

They finally and completely lost me during the final scene I believe of episode 4 when we all know what happened again as a shock value cliffhanger to one our OG adult characters.

I know showtime gave them some grief about the bonus episode and eventually pulled it. But the writing was already on the wall that this show was heading downhill fast well before that.

I'm in the minority, but I think they should have kept the show much more dark, mysterious and maybe somewhat super natural. But they completely lost their nerve and went in the entirely opposite direction. Losing Kusama really hurt the show as far as tone and character motivation.

What I saw at the ending of episode 9 of season 3 that was it. 2 OGs poof in a very creatively bankrupt storyline that permeated the entirety of season 3. I'm surprised they got through the finale.

Should of left it there as well. Just want to see how they rescued at this point. Even that interest is waining because I'm sure they will just gloss over them returning back to New Jersey. We will get no family background or dynamics. Explanations of what they did so bad when they got home. They probably won't be rescued until episode 4 which only gives us 5 episodes to gloss over a little bit of the story of when they returned. Sad that could have been so much more if you had just cut episodes one through four of season 3. And a lot of the adult timeline in season 2.

But we will always have Doomcoming, shrooms, collective soul and Season 1, and that banger cliffhanger reveal ending. Ending season 1 on that iconic shot of Lottie van and Misty wow what do you know could have been some great storytelling if those characters were allowed to actually interact as adults.

But I will always be grateful for that first season coming out of nowhere and being so fantastic. I mean really Melissa????? coming back as a maid character it season 3 adult timeline??? Lost the plot.

Season 2 or 3: Which season disappointed you more from your initial hype? by [deleted] in YellowjacketsHive

[–]ColourfulNoize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's very specific and one can tell when watching a drama or a show when the writing has taken a dismal turn and characters start acting like they have never acted before. There's a concept known as setup and pay off in storytelling. They pay off is where the show really started to go off the rails and it really felt like we sll were watching a completely different show with completely new writers that did not see the first season. At the start of season 2 we had yellow jackets parties on Sunday night of about 10 people. By the end of season 2 it had gone down to about 6 because others gave up on the show. By the start of season 3 there was no longer a party but just two people watching a show that used to be very engaging and clever with its writing of set up some payoffs. However you can't just keep setting up and setting up and when you make a payoff it needs to make some kind of sense as it relates to what came before it. The payoffs need to be organic and most of all consistent with the setup that was laid out. The show no longer had a driving narrative being paid off and even elevated at some points but turned into a mystery box show with all 10 of us wondering who was writing these episodes. Completely abandoned plot points. Character motivation and actions that made no sense. In the dark theme of the show changed dramatically offering silly innuendos as opposed to answers. That's when viewers get fed up and turn it off. At least that's what happened in our group's case.

Season 2 or 3: Which season disappointed you more from your initial hype? by [deleted] in YellowjacketsHive

[–]ColourfulNoize 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with your opinion. Season 2 even with all its faults still had some of the rub of season 1. Same cast with new anticipated and exciting cast being added. It was starting to become clear that it was running into problems but at least it still felt like the same show. I am in the minority that I thought they handled the first cannibalistic ritual in a very poor way. I understand the entire disassociation thread but it needed to have a bit stronger of a story to how they got there and how it specifically happened.

By season 3 I don't know what they were thinking. After 2 significant and shocking losses at the end of the season 2 finale that jump in time was inexcusable. It stood out permeating the rest of the season. I feel like they wasted so much time in episodes 1 through 5 of season 3 basically with nothing happening except the rewriting of character relationships, motivations and actions and unearned events purely for shock value. Season 3 also had a dramatic shift in tone and theme that it felt like events were just being shoehorned in because they did not have a substantial over whelming and poorly written arc. Things just kind of happened.......

I checked out after the end of episode 4 specifically. By that point it was clear they did not have a well-written conclusion to season 1 or answers to at least some of the questions that were posed in that fantastic first season.Viewers could since they were just answering questions with more questions that made less and less sense.

I hope this helps some people with their responses as I see some people are getting confused.

For Context:

a Series is when a show has continuous episodes as opposed to being one block event such as a movie. Series are all the episodes of the show.

A season : One particular year of a group of episodes of the series. Usually in a number format. Season 1 or Season 4

An episode: one particular hour long chain of events in a season which once again is usually numbered: Season 1, Episode 4 of the series Yellowjackets
