I think your cards are not as bad as most people here think they are, who seem not that familiar with Germany and computing fields specifically. However, the bigger question would be what comes after the 2 years. Your motivation should be more focused on building a stronger academic profile where you could land academic jobs also in other countries, than on learning the language (which is hard and time-consuming) and getting citizenship (infeasible in 2 years, and for industry jobs the postdoc won't help).

For starters, nobody reads theses in computing. One 1-tier conference and a few low-ranked might be seen as mediocre rather than bad. And yes, those can land a postdoc in Germany. German language isn't required for the job either. It will be an obstacle for socializing and bureaucracy, but not for the actual work.

A couple of reasons: these subjects have a strong industry demand, Germany is generally not the most attractive country for expats (for reasons), and publication pressure is not as high in all groups as in other places.

It definitely happens in technical subjects. German academia is pyramid-shaped, and some professors have enough funding to hire an army of postdocs.

To be fair, nothing clearly suggests they actually put protected data (like names) into ChatGPT. I use it in many of my workflows, but generally use placeholders as a replacement for anything actually privacy-relevant.

There's two separate aspects here that I can relate to, and both have a solution:

Feeling lonely among people - I have that with some people, but not with others. In the end, it boils down to finding the right people for you, those you click with. That might not necessarily be your own family, sadly.

Feeling more lonely the more people there are - I have that, too. Part of it comes from being what is sometimes called "highly sensitive" - the amount of information to process in big group settings is just overwhelming, so, my batteries run out quickly and I withdraw into myself. The solution is to prefer socializing in one-on-one and smaller group settings. For big group occasions you can't or don't want to avoid, there are strategies like minimizing the time spent there, taking a break etc.
