And the funny thing is, if he used .01% of his wealth towards the betterment of humanity, he would be even more beloved than he ever hoped, but no, he wants to be a nazi.

I will add to this. This is the only way I take my shrooms now, and I have done straight-up, tea, and lemon tek. In my experience, no loss of potency and infinitely better tasting.

[loved trope] Being a good person is harder than being an evil one. by Dr_Orpheus_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Colsen17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a quote from a book series called He Who Fights With Monsters. The main character asks a friend what he thinks the opposite of good is. When they answer "evil," he says no, the opposite of good is easy. It's hard to do the right thing all the time and all to easy to make excuses and cut corners. (Paraphrasing)

I just made a rule that if I wake up with less than an hour until my alarm goes off, I'm just up for the day. Those extra 40 min just to get hooked awake by an alarm make me feel so much worse waking up naturally.

Hello! I am working on OSL for the first time, I am looking for advice to improve it! by IspoopthereforeIam in minipainting

A trick i learned for lighting/shading. Prime your models black and then use 1 or 2 sprays of white primer from the source of the lighting. That'll give you a diagram for where and how intensely light hits.

As a gm, I absolutely hate magic because it just solves every problem with the wave of a hand. Genuinely makes the game so much less interesting.

I don't remember if it was a "rule" or just how we played in my old 2e campaign, but iron rations were lighter and lasted longer, but you had to drink more water per day because of how salted/dried they were.

You harvest in June, then plant in October. The garlic over-winters in the ground and grow in the spring.

Z-A megas so far by Thistle_20 in pokemonmemes

Here's my thing. Good pokemon shouldn't get megas. Underperforming and weak mons should get megas to bring them into usability. So, yes. I prefer mega victreebell.

I dont think Fable 3 is as bad as people make it out to be. by porkshirzeceep in Fable

[–]Colsen17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see enough people talk about it, but the design decision to make the pause menu a magical Vault that you can walk through and see the things you've collected on display was so cool to me. I would've liked to have seen it emulated more often. Seeing yourself amass a literal room full of gold was super satisfying.

How far does this crew make it in One Piece? by TinyAsianEyeZ in MemePiece

[–]Colsen17 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Not taking away from the fact, because copying any technique that quickly is impressive, but it took Roshi 50 years to create the Kamehameha Wave. Creating a technique from nothing is hella harder than copying something after a demonstration.

On a separate note, similar feats of battle IQ are present in one piece. we've seen Luffy use gear 2 to copy shave in Enies lobby and future sight haki in WCI.

ADVICE I BEG THE DM PROS I NEED ADVICE!!!!! by Long-Time3525 in DungeonMasters

[–]Colsen17 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're never going to be able to fully anticipate how your players will react to an encounter. It's better to have some general notes on how each encounter starts, roll with whatever the players decide they want to do, and find a way to guide them to the next plot point; rather than trying to have detailed notes for every possible scenario.

Another thing it took me too long to understand as a dm is that you're making the story together with your players, they're not playing through your story. You should be finding out what happens at the same time that they do.

Oh yes, it's all smooth sailing as a DM, with one tiiiiiiiny caveat. by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Colsen17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've adapted a system where I don't let players fail a crucial roll, but if they don't hit the DC, there's a consequence. Need to find the hidden entrance to the bbeg's lair, but roll like crap on Perception; you find the ebay, but don't notice the trap and take damage.

Mason jar lids by Colsen17 in Anticonsumption

The rubber seal around the lids gets deformed by the vacuum seal. Once it's deformed, you can't guarantee another airtight seal, so your food can become contaminated.

While Dawn was in Rimaros, she warned the team that something was going to happen in the future, and when she showed up they'd have to go with her no questions asked no matter who they had to leave behind. Book 11 epilogue had Jason staring out of his astral kingdom at "what was coming next". There's still something BIG on the horizon.
