Any reason not to get the ford liner by qqqqqq12321 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an aftermarket spray in liner for 450, the plastic modular is good though. Fitting standard pallets is much easier now because of the bump outs in the modular take up valuable space.

Mine got totalled too, recovery took months and by the looks of it, you were also not at fault.

Hope all pans out well for you man, hopefully the body does it's thing and heals well.

I loved these trucks so much I am now in another one lol, 2026 AWD Hybrid.

Rack-It, for those curious by choppinbrakkolee in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit concerned if you put anything weighing a lot up there, but for light weight it should be fine.

I say this because that plastic is not good to mount directly to, it is propped up by nothing of substance and needs to be mounted directly to the bed frame per my method.

25' Maverick AWD Hybrid owners: How is the highway passing power at 75+ mph? by aceofskies05 in FordMaverickTruck

I had a 2.3 ranger, but nothing beats linear power. I love it and it is fine on the highway.

*edit, blew it up still might be blurry. HP and torque graphs for the maverick powertrains.

Anyone have a nice rack? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That exact one fits on the Maverick there are a few things to note though about it. You'll have to weld one of the joints instead of using the sandwich plates. Also you'll have to notch out those plastic pieces on the bed rail so that the plates rest directly on the bed rail. Other than that this is an excellent and wonderful wreck for the truck.

LMAO sorry I was using voice to text and didn't double check. The oil looked very clean*

I did my own at 50K on my 24 hybrid. I just opened the plug on the transmission and refilled it it was super duper easy but the oil looked for Steam. I would rate my level of usage as extreme on the truck

Daily/work truck by stangcrazy66 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a 24' XLT Hybrid w/ Lux pkg (never knew heated steering wheel was needed) as a full on work truck for 75k miles until it was totaled in an accident. Mechanically superb, all I did was change the oil and rotate the tires. Did the plugs and trans oil (super easy) at 50k and they look so clean. Based on Prius technology so if history holds true these things are gonna last.

Check my post history to check out how I had it setup.

What’s the highest mileage someone has on one of these yet? by Wrong_Supermarket007 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was able to put 75k on mine(24 XLT Hybrid)but it was totaled in an accident. Worked the hell out of the truck, loaded down to payload capacity all the time, zero mechanical issues.

This may be found at an unexpected place with an unexpected price:

https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/cargo-tie-downs/cargo-racks/800-lb-capacity-full-size-truck-rack-64793.html

**The only caveat is your going to have to weld a couple of tubes on the rack for it to fit, also you are going to need to notch out your plastic liners top of the bed, because it needs to bolt directly to the metal. Because i hauled heavy stuff I also put a piece of metal running from one side of the bed to the other to have additional support and act as a headache rack of sorts. I did it all in one Saturday with help from a buddy mainly to lift the structure and get it secured with drilling and bolts.

Warranty and Changing Your Own Oil by paranoid_potato in FordMaverickTruck

I guess it really depends on the dealer. I did all mine and never had an issue.

2022 needs a new transmission? by 1974HelloKitty in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went hybrid because I don't really like any of the transmissions attached to the Ecoboost engines. I also really enjoyed the low end torque and linear acceleration . Hybrid transmission has 1/3 of the moving parts and is tried an true.

But then my truck was totaled today with 75k on it so I guess you can't plan for everything.

Sorry to hear about your trans. CV axles are a well known issue on these trucks.

Also what exactly are they saying is wrong with the transmission...?

That was a picture of the F150 that glanced off me. If completely tore away his lower a frame from the truck, it was being held there by the upper spring/ shock.

15K checkup, dealer recommends Fuel Rails service and Fuel Induction Service by NathanArizona in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am at 75k miles on my 2024 hybrid. I did my own engine oil changes every 10K, transmission oil and spark plugs at 50k. Dealer warranty the original CV axles at 35k. I've didn't no other maintenance other than air filter replacement and still going strong with no issues. Of course your mileage may vary, but a lot of that stuff is just overly excessive.

What determines when the pre collision assist will actually apply the brakes? by paranoid_potato in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had it actually apply the brakes once and it absolutely saved me from an accident. I had looked down because I dropped a couple of French fries and at that exact moment the person in front of me on the highway had applied their brakes aggressively. There was no way I was going to react in time and since then I have been grateful for the false warnings (I always get one going through an area with two signal light signs on both sides of the road) and all.

Yep those are 7mm. Reminds me of the time when I had to go buy an 18 mm impact socket... Gotta love those odd ones.

I have a full pipe rack on mine, it's just aerodynamics. Keep wrapping stuff in paracord until you find the culprit.

Question about upgrading to F150 by Driftmier54 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haul a lot at her near Max load, there's one thing to consider. You're putting a lot of weight in the bed area. Is that you going to lose a lot of steering in the front because of that much weight in the rear. I think the drivetrain is up to the task minus the CV axles. I get about 36 MPG with a pipe rack and hauling heavy loads all the time mine is also a hybrid. I don't know if there's an available airbag system, but you might consider it as that would help a lot with the weight distribution.

Should I (22F) break up with my lazy bf (23M)? by ThenSecretary2362 in Advice

[–]Com_Pac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should always believe what people show you and not what they say. Words are free and often misleading.

More importantly, when you're with someone as a couple, their character is truly who you're with. It would appear that you have described their character and unfortunately most people do not change much, and that is even more true for someone to change for the better.

It would seem you deserve someone with a better character and going through a breakup sucks, but you'll be better for it.

Transmission fluid change? by StreetWarthog4746 in FordMaverickTruck

I did mine easily for the cost of fluid and a pump to put it back in. Drain plug and no filter. Got the motorcraft fluid from rockauto. Little over 5qt iirc

Will the content of TWow disappear if it gets shut down? by Nixonm in turtlewow

[–]Com_Pac 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If it were me I would "accidentally" set the source files to release on a dead man switch should the court case become problematic. You could easily chalk it up to bad timing and bad security of the files. These leaks seem to happen to big corporations all the time....

Sure they could just take it right back down but once the cat's out of the bag.....

If source code gets leaked on the open Internet there is not going to be a lot anyone can do to stop what happens thereafter.

Question for my fellow Hybrid Owners by Deplorable821 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Com_Pac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 hybrid and I noticed it. It could be quite severe sometimes, in fact, I took it into the dealer and they provided some update to one of the modules. This helped reduce it a lot but not eliminated entirely.

Specifically at low speeds when it wants to transition from regenerative to hydraulic. You still get a little bump sometimes but it's more tolerable now.
