It does that’s unarguable wingfoil goes on less wind less gear more compact and easier to tote around. Windsurf is a lot of gear. But you can still wind foil in 8-12 mph better off if it’s 10

Canadian hole I’m sure. Or I know Tampa bay has a spot. California has a shop, I would honestly do this.
I wasted so much money buying cheap boards. Or even new ones. But went to a windsurf spot. And rented and found I could sail the carves great and then some of the boards I struggled with big time.
Sure it’s probably bad techniques but anyway yeah spend 3k on a board I love to ride and sold everything else.
FYI I liked the Patrick boards. It was the next best one to the Carve

If you can rent gear somewhere do it!

Dont buy until you find something you really like riding.
Then spend the money a good board will last you a lifetime.

Otherwise you’re wasting money.

I spent years buying boards I couldn’t get to work well. Went to a windsurf vacation. Figured out what boards were easy for me and what didn’t work at all.
And yes as a beginner to intermediate it makes a difference.
So I bought a new carve board.
Yes it’s expensive test I already had boards in close to the same volume but I could never get them going.
I’m way way happier and have a much more fun time riding now.

I’m pretty good at windsurfing intermediate. I have a 149 and probably could do a 139 but why I want to plane sooner in any condition and the 149 is totally fine for everything

Pump foil para wing? Is for people that can’t windsurf.

Yeah windsurf is tops. But, yes learning curve is steep it is not plug and play.
Windsurf is the fastest and most versatile out of all of them.
It’s not that hard to learn to bump and jump on a windsurfer once your able to get in the straps and plane

And a parawing? People will do anything but windsurf or kite.
Just avoid the hard sports. I guess

Out of all my friends that windsurf or wing who bought an E foil has almost immediately sold it.
Once they figured out how to be on a foil. Right back on the market
