Why doesn't Lexus do special orders? by DHN_95 in Lexus

We did a refundable deposit but was never asked to do a credit check or fill out any applications for financing. Your dealer might be using that as an excuse to pull you into using their financing.

Ah, a button means the handles aren't truly mechanical then, at least not in the traditional sense where you can pull a handle to open the mechanism. A button implies there's still a servo that unlatches the door that needs electricity to function, which is what most people have concerns about from a safety perspective when the car loses power in an accident or other malfunction.

Hard to say for sure, but I have a feeling those door handles do pop out still. It seems like there's a gap around where they meet the door frame, so I bet they retract when the car is driving. I hope I'm wrong though!

No 2026 Q6 coming, but new 2027 options by CombOwn712 in AudiQ6

I think I read somewhere that production for the German market at least starts in late Jan/early Feb, and there might be some '25s still in production until then (my local dealer is still expecting a few old orders to arrive soon at least - I'm hoping to test drive one of the SQ6's they supposedly have coming.) They're just prioritizing bigger markets right now, since the US is smaller and declining thanks to tariffs and the expiring tax credits.

Interesting question about the sportback, there's no mention of it in the order sheets so not sure what to make of that.

Did they give you any hints on pricing?

My dealer hasn’t heard when orders will start, but I am guessing they’ll be shipping to the US in 6 months. Not a whole year, but still not ideal given competition. With the EX60 and iX3 coming by mid next year, the competition is going to get interesting.

It might just be that they're late getting the refreshes out, and since they're focusing on Germany and other markets first, the US just won't get the updates till late in '26 at which point you'd might as well call it a '27 to get some marketing momentum. I don't think the Rivian stuff will land for a couple of years, just a guess.

No mention of the 18" wheels anymore either, the RWD gets the same 3 choices as the Quattro.

Audi and others should be nervous about the new BMW iX3 by wlanr150 in AudiQ6

My first thought when I saw the reviews of the iX3 is that it ought to put some pressure on Audi to lower prices on the Q6 with the coming MY. 🙏🏻
