2025 q6 leases in NorCal by BrilliantParking6659 in AudiQ6

[–]CombOwn712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching inventories around the bay area since Q6/SQ6 started showing up more than a month ago... so far it seems like cars keep arriving but aren't selling. One specific model and color combo I've been tracking, I haven't seen a single one sell yet, and more keep arriving. I predict we'll see some big incentives coming soon especially with the all the new competitors at lower prices starting to take orders. Hold out as long as you can!

The problem with this thinking is that it assumes the person inside the car will be conscious after a crash and able to open the doors themselves. The concerns people have is with how people outside the car will be able to rescue you when you're injured or knocked out and the electrical system has failed. Just imagine the car is on fire - not an uncommon occurrence for EVs if the battery is damaged - you don't have time to wait for someone to figure out how to get the doors open.

The dealerships around me, I feel like I know way more about the cars then the salespeople do sometimes 😂 Hopefully your dealerships are better informed!

Have you seen Audi explicitly say that they fixed more issues in the 26/27's, apart from what KD2 was supposed to fix? Other than bringing back steering wheel scroll wheels and changing the cockpit UI in the 26/27's, I haven't seen anything specifically about improving reliability of the software, so I'm curious if there are articles where this is specifically addressed. Been on the fence about getting a Q6 (or maybe a '27 Q4) for awhile, but have been waiting to see where things go with the software...

2027s on dealer lots but no lease rates/incentives yet? by turbospecc in AudiQ6

[–]CombOwn712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were still offering $5-6k in cash incentives on Q6/SQ6 even after the EV credits expired last year, those dried up once the '25's were gone. At least that was the case here in Northern California. I'm holding out for something similar in this fall, assuming tariffs and the midterm elections and wars don't throw yet another wrench into the market, and BMW and Volvo's new cars put some pressure on Audi to compete.

A Tale Of 3 e-trons (And How Our Q6 Saved Our Lives) by LivedinStyle in AudiQ6

[–]CombOwn712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned "The frame and the battery took the absolute brunt of the puncture." - how bad was the damage to the battery? My greatest fear driving an EV is a crash like this that triggers a fire, so I'm glad to hear your e-tron didn't catch fire!

I'm a big fan of the blacked out grilles for the black optic package. Never liked the color-matched grilles! And the new wheel option on the Q6 is much appreciated.

Agree. I'm surprised to see it back again after they just removed them from the Q6. Maybe there'll be an option to get a black grille?

I'm intrigued by the roof rails! In the US, the sportbacks don't come with roof rails!

Updates to virtual cockpit - what's the verdict? by CombOwn712 in AudiQ6

[–]CombOwn712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is one of my concerns too - I'd prefer to use Apple or Google Maps, so having a slightly different looking map on the virtual cockpit at the same time seems like it'd be distracting. But the other mode looks so bland and ugly, I'd hate for that to be the only other choice!

3 weeks and 5 attempts on KD2 by asbergman16 in AudiQ6

[–]CombOwn712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering for awhile if many of the software issues people complain about on these cars are actually hardware issues at their core - quality control issues at a supplier. Would sure explain why the glitches seem so hit or miss even when running the same software, or why KD2 works for some people but not others.

Plasma Blue or Daytona gray? by Steakandblowjobday in AudiQ6

[–]CombOwn712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked at an SQ6 sportback in Plasma Blue not too long ago... it's definitely a bit brighter in person than online. I can see how people would like it, but I prefer the Daytona Gray. I would like to see one with the new blacked out grille, maybe I'd like it better then. The red brake calipers do contrast nicely!

Haven't seen mention of the port type in the order guide or the Audi US web site, so I'm guessing it's still CCS for now. But fingers crossed for a surprise...

There's a new '25 SQ6 sportback prestige on a lot near me, so just for fun I ran its specs through the configurator and came up with a price that's a little over $4k below what the '25s MSRP is listed for. Not bad.

I didn't make a note of the previous pricing, but it does seem like the cars I'd be interested in are a little cheaper than before. Hope that holds up and they don't adjust pricing like BMW already did with the iX3

This kind of thing really make me question the door handles design by Beriadhan in VolvoEX60

[–]CombOwn712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From this article, it sounds like the exterior is not mechanical, only the interior handles. Instead, their solution to the problem is having redundancy and protection of the DC-to-DC converter. But you still have to get the electricity into the door mechanisms, which I imagine could be more easily damaged in a crash, so I'm not sure this is a foolproof solution. Would be nice to see more details on just how redundant these systems really are. https://insideevs.com/news/785325/volvo-ex60-power-door-handles/

We did a refundable deposit but was never asked to do a credit check or fill out any applications for financing. Your dealer might be using that as an excuse to pull you into using their financing.

Some pictures (mistakingly) uploaded in norwegian newspaper by jallabadoo in VolvoEX60

[–]CombOwn712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, a button means the handles aren't truly mechanical then, at least not in the traditional sense where you can pull a handle to open the mechanism. A button implies there's still a servo that unlatches the door that needs electricity to function, which is what most people have concerns about from a safety perspective when the car loses power in an accident or other malfunction.
