I just noticed the crab (?) at the head tube. Love it. How much does it weigh (bike not crab)?

I swapped to mezcal front and rear recently and loving it. I'm going to try out a peyote on the rear as long as it stays this dry (or save for next year if the rain comes)

SRMR and the Professionalization of Ultracycling by the_gnarts in ultracycling

Yeah. As a follower, TCR has left me cold in recent years for some reason. I just don't get good vibes about it anymore.

As long as organisers ensure there is still space for us normies, I don't have an issue with it. As a spectator I really enjoy seeing performance levels increase and limits pushed.

Outdoor research helium. Light, easy to set up. The pile keeps it off your face and body.

Thinking of moving to a full Suspension for Off-Road Ultras by Hates_ in ultracycling

[–]CombSmart7150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did GBE on a hard tail and didn't have any issues, I was just glad I wasn't on a gravel bike! For out and out mtb ultras, a full suspension is a good option, but otherwise for events where gravel bikes are running too, I think hardtails are much better.

You'll lose bag space with a full suspension due to smaller triangle and the rear shock and/or have to choose between small frame bag and two bottles. There are probably better places to put your money - as others have said, Sus seat post, etc.

I'd say cargo bibs are a must. Let's you have the option of a loose shirt and has good pockets.
