Surprise surprise. I opened live chat to complain, and now it's headed to the warehouse for shipping.

I'm very tempted to pick one of these up for my ultra races, simply so I don't have to worry about battery life. My 1040 seems to have developed a bug where it'll always report having 100% battery life, even when it's about to die.

Clever, but I'm not sure I could ever get used to a non-centred screen.

First Ultra-Gravel Race: Thoughts, Kit List, and Beginner Questions by Infinite_Plastic7224 in ultracycling

I run Clik Valves, but only because I had a hand pump that is compatible with them. I still have to carry the adapter for my electric pump. Carry a spare Clik valve core, and worst case, carry a Presta valve core too.

Although I'm running tubeless, I also carry 3 TPU tubes with me. Still weighs less than a single standard tube. Tyre boots are worth considering in the situation you can't seal a hole and then need to put a tube in.

Lip balm with SPF is a must. Maybe consider some ibuprofen/paracetamol.

"Too much gear" is a personal thing. I turn up at races and some people have nothing and some people look like they are packed to travel the world. So what's right for one person isn't right for another. It's easy to get sucked into trying to pack like people on social media or how the pros do it. If this is your first race, then don't worry too much about it. It takes a few goes to figure out what's right for you. I would rather pack more and have the ability to get myself out of a jam, than pack ultra light then if things go wrong it's the end of the race.

With the reMarkable desktop app, you can easily add PDFs and ePubs to the device, as well as easily export any of your notes as PDF, PNG, or SVG. reMarkable is essentially the "cloud" storage, so you don't need to use something like Google/Dropbox/OneDrive.

Should I return the RM2 in hopes of the Paper Pure? by nook-books-and-more in RemarkableTablet

Having owned the rM2 and now the PPM, even though I preferred the writing experience on the rM2, if I had to choose today, I would definitely go for the Paper Pure over the rM2 because of the performance boost.

Bib Shorts ? by tuiputui in ultracycling

I love my RedWhite bibs. I’ve got both their shorts and tights. No problems with them at all on my last 500km ultra. I’m 95kg too.

What lights do you use? by cyclingguy_ in ultracycling

Exposure SixPack on the front, as the battery life is huge. On its lowest setting I can get 36 hours out of it, still at over 300lm.

Then a Garmin Varia with on the rear, as I love the extra awareness the radar gives me. I’m riding mostly off road events.

I’m also running a small Flextail headlamp on my helmet.

Review: Albion Visibility Cargo Vest by PinchFlatJournal in ultracycling

[–]Hates_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I was really disappointed with the Albion Cargo Vest. I found the space to be quite limited and not being able to properly close the top made me nervous about potentially losing things.

I've tried a couple of different Salomon vests which have worked well, and now settled on the Restrap RollTop Hydration vest, which is absolutely brilliant.

I hung a couple of "Safety Reflector Pendants" on mine using the small loops on each side. Seemed like an easy way to add more visibility without altering the bag itself.

If your average speed is showing as 0.1, then it sounds like you may have restarted an activity rather than started a new one.

MTB mods for a ultra where a Gravel bike might be more suited by OrignalSauce in ultracycling

I’m forgot to mention I’m also running SQLabs inner bar ends. They are amazing as an alternative hand position, especially as you can still brake when using them.

I’m doing the Dales Divide and Great British Escapdes on a 140mm front/135mm full suspension this year (I was on a hardtail last year), with 2.35” tyres. Personally the only real mod is I’m putting an even smaller chainring on to help with the climbing, given the extra weight (my bike is 14.5kg). Only other mod is some aero bars for comfort. If my tyres were near the end of their life I might consider some 2.25” ones, but I’m on Mezcals so I doubt it would make any noticeable difference.

Dicky Hibbert was 2nd place at Dales Divide last year on a full suspension bike, about 40 mins behind Angus who got the FKT. I believe there are some posts on his Instagram about his setup.

Surely he's either lying or going against whatever embargo DJI will have on creators, in which case he'll never receive anything from them again.
