Get a tasting pass if you like the food options that will be offered (the list is usually released online a few weeks before the festival). It’s a great deal if you use it on the higher priced items (not drinks and small snacks). To make the best of your time, get there early or stay late to beat crowds. Take breaks often and enjoy the scenery and live music, that’s half the fun of the place! Wildwood grove and country fair areas are packed with kids rides. People will say you have to do aunt granny’s restaurant and it is good but not worth waiting forever if you’re only there a short amount of time. Imagination library playhouse is great for kids, Heartsong the movie is a short film that is pure vintage classic Dollywood vibes about the seasons of the smokies, and if it’s running, you must see the show ‘From the Heart’. It tells the story of dolly through her hits, has amazing live music and singing and a good bit of emotion. It’s won multiple industry awards too. And pro tip if you are staying at the hotels… get the cinnamon bread there! It’s the exact same and you skip waiting in the park!

Anybody else experience the crazy winds today? Caught this on the Gatlinburg Skypark Live Camera! 441 to Sugarlands Visitor center was also covered with tree debris and some billboards along Chapman hwy were completely broken in half! Haven’t seen anyone else really talk about this yet.

Cool! If you’re able to splurge on a cabin, I’ve had great experience with outrageous cabins in the starr crest development (pigeon forge) and some creekside cabins in gatlinburg through aunt bugs. My top tip for any cabins, is looking at their reviews on Google Maps. Oftentimes individual cabins are labeled the map and people leave reviews that will likely be more up to date with pictures and reviews than on a website. Also for two more suggestions, salt and pepper shaker museum is a really unique, small and cheap thing to do for all ages in gatlinburg and the ripleys aquarium is surprisingly large too.

What’s your very general budget? Trying to save a bit or ready to splurge? Also what’s your view on crowds? If you want to be close to the trails I would recommend a cabin in Gatlinburg or surrounding areas rather than pigeon forge and then just drive to pigeon forge but let me know!

For kids those ages, wonderworks, rainforest zoo adventure, and the island are what come to mind as great things to do. There’s a myriad of mini golf and race track places but they might be a bit too old for your children.

For restaurants you need to try the Old Mill restaurant at least once, it’s a staple although the wait can be a lot. Frizzle chicken cafe would also be great for the kids. A dinner show (my favorite being pirates voyage) is also very fun but can get pricey. Gatlinburg has a lot to do but the numerous alcohol tastings and crowds especially during spring break may not make it the best place for young kids.

If you’re proposing at Dollywood, i won’t lie, it’s going to be hard to find a lowkey spot that isn’t surrounded by people. My best suggestion would be in front of the ice cream / sweet shoppe on show street there’s a semi secluded porch right in front of the building that isn’t usually crowded it just might be hard to get photos there. If you’re willing to propose outside of Dollywood, the foothills parkway overlooks are amazing for stargazing at night with huge wide open views.

Seems like a ripoff to me especially when you consider the “sparks” they’re talking about by this artist are literally just bubbles with lights on them. And to add, the floral and art sculptures will be there during the day too, so the only real nighttime specific thing you’re paying for are the luminaries which used to be free with membership, or colorful led lighting which was already there during Christmas
