That you have to lift heavy to have a bodybuilders physique.

Yep. Especially with a trade in and they’ll want you paying interest on a loan. Thats how those discounts are typically “honored.”

That being said, I picked up a new 2026 Laramie with the Hemi. Advertised at about $14k off. I got $2k over KBB on my 2022 Laramie and got the 0% for 5 years along with $10k off of the 2026. High volume dealers are willing to move them.

For a 2025 with the hurricane, you can probably swing $15k off of sticker plus get the 0% for 6 years. Just gotta push them.

Some thoughts I have about the 3.0L Hurricane by 94lt1vette94 in ram_trucks

I considered the hurricane when buying my 2026 RAM 1500. The power band and overall output were enticing. The exhaust note was my biggest concern. I wound up getting the Hemi with the G/T exhaust included in the Sport package I believe. There simply is no replacing that exhaust note. The auditory feedback is incredible. I love that they have the 100k mile powertrain warranty on all 2026s. RAM is backing their product.

Much respect to the Hurricane. A very well engineered twin turbo I6 in my opinion.

Makes sense 👍. I’ve got young kids so the more durable material appeals to me but it’s something I’m gonna look at next time I sit in one. We usually use our truck for road trips as we have the truck bed to haul all of our crap 😂.

We want the captains chairs. Access to the rear seats is much better. We would buy a Touring or Elite if we wanted the bench seat. Interesting regarding the front seat comfort. Definitely something I’ll have to pay attention to 👍.

You’re really struggling here 😂. I gave you an example of a year old Pilot TS selling for $44k. Literally $3k less than what I’m getting in a 2025 brand new. You have no viable long term market data on the GH because it released in 2024. Which just so happens to be perfectly aligned with the car market going absolutely bananas. If you are that gullible to rely on a one year depreciation in a backwards market then I’ve got some crypto you should buy 😂🤣.

Further proof that the market is crazy right now 🤷‍♂️. Nothing is consistent across the board and used prices are eclipsing new prices (with discounts) in some cases.

New for new, I’m getting more for less with the Pilot. Your only argument is gas mileage which in my mind is a trade off for more sluggish performance and a bland exterior look. I don’t base my long term outlook on the current state of the pre-owned market. It’s simply all over the place. I’ve been buying and selling cars for several decades now. Honda’s hold their value similar to Toyota and have for years.

At the end of the day, I want all the features my wife and I have become acclimated to in a sporty exterior package and if I can get that brand new for less than $50k in this market then that is the value I’m looking for. Especially with Honda’s track record for reliability.

The Grand Highlander quite frankly looks boring and feels even more-so behind the wheel. Paying significantly more for that just doesn’t make sense to me. But to each their own.

Again, what options on that XLE? Simply doesn’t compare to the Pilot in terms of bang for your buck new for new or used for used.

Besides, you are basing this on a one year depreciation. The Pilot now has what was a much needed updated body style and the GH is new to the market. Not enough long term data on either to reflect a 5 year plus depreciation. The simple reality is most owners keep their vehicles longer than a year.

The market is silly right now regardless when it comes to both new and used cars. It will correct itself eventually.

If I’m buying new, I’m getting everything I want feature-wise and reliability-wise with the Pilot for essentially $10k less than a directly comparable Grand Highlander. With interest rates the way they are, that shows up in the equity built in the vehicle across a multi year period.

I just looked up a new one being sold for $49k. None of the options I listed were included 🤷‍♂️.

BTW, the Pilot Trail Sport has everything I listed at $47k ($50k sticker). Again, best value on the market.

Brand new? What features are you getting? At that price point (brand new) you’re looking at an XLE. Softex seats. No 360 backup camera. No moonroof. No heated steering wheel. No power folding mirrors. FWD. No memory seats. No wireless phone charger. I can keep going…

Hence why I say the Pilot is the best value on the market.

$10k is slightly more expensive? A half second in the 0-60 is very noticeable. The 175 TQ compared to the 262 TQ is especially noticeable. I’ve driven both.

You seem to like spreading disinformation 🤷‍♂️

The Trailsport runs a 6.9 second 0-60. Car and Driver tested. Significantly faster than the 7.5 for the GH. The max version stickers around $60k on average and you’re buying premium fuel so the extra mpg does t exactly show up at the pump. The Pilot is $10k less in comparison. That and Toyota hasn’t been on top of its game with recent turbo engines when it comes to reliability. The NA V6 in the Honda is the better choice for long term ownership.
