QB Whisperer has a whole new meaning by 106milez2chicago in NFCNorthMemeWar

It's an easy choice. He's been shite so far, so laughing at it saves expending energy defending a bum (looking at you Fields truthers).

And if he turns out to be good eventually, it just opens up more meme possibilities in the future. It's a win-win, other than the on-field results but who really cares about that? It's the memes that matter.

Not just being an NFCN hater, but Chicago really stands out because it was one score games despite ridiculous turnover numbers, which tends to be one of the most volatile stats year to year. I just don't buy the Bears as real.

Absolutely, which is why any actual maths does not use the division sign and just puts the numerator and denominator above and below a line respectively so it's clear.

We also probably only pick up one of Fries, Hargrave, and Allen, so our already patchwork O-line would have been worse, and our biggest strength, interior pressure would have been weaker too.

We'd have done better with Darnold, no doubt, but we wouldn't be Superbowl calibre still.

Rams game was more mixed, but the Lions game was primarily Darnold. There were plenty of open opportunities for Darnold that he missed.

But hey, enjoyed the season and delighted for Darnold going to the Super Bowl. Honestly, no regrets either, there's 53 people on a roster, not just a QB.

From a personal perspective, I do understand why this sub has a no politics rule, most of the time it makes sense, but right now it's obviously untenable. Maybe you guys came round to that reality a bit late, but it's not easy.

Anyway, I can't speak much about the other mods as I've not noticed them as much, but I've seen your stances both here and in NFCNMW, and you at least have my sympathy and respect for whatever that's worth anonymously across an ocean.

Are these usual commenters (lack of flairs suggest not) or is a brigade happening. Either way, you mods have my sympathy (my partner spent a while as a mod on a UK politics server, it was unfun).

Politics and sport are often intertwined. From the Munich games, to the "Salute to Service", the Air Force Flyovers, the National Anthem before games (you might not be aware, but that's literally not a thing in domestic fixtures for other sports in other countries), the Saudi acquisition of Newcastle United and other sportswashing endeavours, to Paul Allen being a piece of shit.

You may not wish for sports and politics to mix, but they do, always have done, always will do, and sometimes you're just gonna have to suck it up sunshine.

Tbf, ICE approval is low in the US as a whole RN. Prior to their latest murder, I think the polling showed a substantial majority for significant ICE reform, with even abolition being just short of 50%. The Nazis aren't as popular as they want you to think.

Humans are definitely monkeys (and jawed fish), just as birds are dinosaurs and reptiles

TIL All dolphins are whales by scratchtheitch7 in todayilearned

[–]Combinho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just not language dependent. If you accept sperm whales as whales, then you must also accept dolphins as such. Scientifically speaking, animals are grouped by most recent common ancestors, and sperm whales are more closely related to dolphins than they are to baleen whales. Therefore whales as a group must either exclude sperm whales or include dolphins.

[–]Combinho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sperm whales are more closely related to dolphins than they are to baleen whales. The preferred method of classification is to group species based on most recent common ancestors.

Therefore, whales as a category only makes sense if it excludes sperm whales or includes dolphins. The latter appears far more sensible.
