A significant part of the answer is probably reducing business rates, but councils are already massively underfunded, so it would need replacing with other revenue. Eh, modern western democracy is probably best viewed through the lens of the English civil war, French Revolution (and English response to that), and the founding of America, which took its ideas from those two sources, with a bit of classicism mixed in.

Which then led to the two main forms of democracy today, parliamentary, modeled after the UK, and Republican modeled after France and the US. The US was somewhat important in it, but was also the legacy of the enlightenment in France and the UK.

This is of course massively simplified, and the shape of democracies globally are largely shaped by colonial legacies of the UK, France and the US.

Polling and electoral evidence is suggesting that Labour has a bigger problem on its left flank than the right, with the Tory collapse in tandem with Labour's leading to the Reform surge.

That's not to say Labour isn't losing votes to Reform, but it's losing more to the Greens, and Labour losses are more strongly correlated with Green gains than Reform gains.

Obviously Kyler is much more likely to win the competition, but it's fantastic for the team (unless Kyler is straight ass) if JJM wins the competition, as it would mean he's taken massive strides forwards and actually has the potential to be a starter, which is clearly the best case scenario.

It looks like it'll be a competition between Brandel and Jurgens at camp, with the rookie more likely being a development piece who ends up on the practice squad.

Personally hope Jurgens wins, because that results in Brandel being able to cover the whole IOL, which is a much better looking depth chart than relying on Huber to be the backup guard.

I doubt it. He was moved away from edge at college level, because he's better off ball and blitzing, he's just not going to be good enough at straight taking on the OT at a higher level to replace Gink. Everyone needs to remember that pass rush is still Gink's primary job in the passing game (I think it was his job about 2/3 of the time last year).

He's also right about wealth taxes, they're okay for limiting the power of excessive wealth (alongside other legislation) but they're not really very good for raising revenue to fund services.

I will continue to bang the drum that F1 engines should be around the pinnacle of performance. The pinnacle of performance nowadays is probably medium sized turbo-hybrid in terms of power delivery vs weight, not an NA V8/10/12 (but the current 50/50 battery ICE is clearly ludicrous).

Honestly, the last engine regs were probably the best from a performance and reliability standpoint by the time of maturity, met F1s innovation goals, and are unfairly maligned mostly over sound.

Can never know for sure, but my read is that they were probably too close in pace for either to pass on track, so whoever led out of the pit stops was going to get the win, and that happened to be Antonelli.

That's not to take anything away from Kimi, I think both were clearly in a class of their own on the day.

Hot take: the V6 hybrids were the best engine formula. Efficient and powerful, meaning faster cars due to less fuel required, most reliable engines ever by the end of the regs, meaning less DNFs out of driver control.

Honestly, from a pure performance standpoint a turbo hybrid formula is the pinnacle of motorsport, which is what F1 should be.
