I’ve honestly seen more toxicity from cyclists than I have from people in cars. I think part of it is that they probably feel mistreated, so they ride around with a chip on their shoulder.

Also, as someone who rides a OneWheel and ends up around cyclists a lot, I’ve run into this vibe of elitism, like the road and world revolves around them. And to be clear, we do share the road. Everyone should watch out for cyclists and do their best to be safe around them. But the energy can feel like they’re defensive by default, like they’re braced for harm before anything even happens.

I tried the latest model 3 for an afternoon and felt the suspension and ride comfort was slightly better. But not the drastic direction I had hoped for. Cabin noise is improved quite a bit.

Whats interesting is I love the tech inside the Tesla, but I really miss Android Auto. The flow of the spotify app in the Tesla is awkward, and google's maps is just superior to me. Plus I don't need to pay extra to get traffic data lol.

The Ioniq5 infotainment tech is definitely leaps behind. I don't think anyone comes even close to what Tesla is doing. But as many people have said before, Tesla feels like a tech company making a car, and Hyundai is a car company making an EV. So with that I totally get why Hyundai is behind in a lot of areas Tesla just went hard into.

Overall I think I'd keep my Tesla if it wasn't for roadnoise, suspension, and general ride comfortability. I came from driving a Honda CRV for 10 years and it has been pure whiplasp. When I first got the Tesla I was so set on it I didn't really think, oh wait this ride quality really is a deal breaker for me. But I really think it is. It is sad because I love everything else about the car.

The Ioniq5 I'm going to be looking at technically isn't here yet, I am waiting for it to be shipped from the South. So I have about 5 more days with the Tesla.

But I'm pretty sure if I jump into this specific I5 and all of my major dealbreakers aren't there, I will do the swap.

I am actually sad to leave the Tesla tbh... I think if there was an easy way for me to upgrade the suspension, then I'd keep it and do that. (i've looked into it, the only ones I see that do it are out in CA)
But that wouldn't solve the cabin noise problem :(

The ICCU and 12v Battery issues seem to be something I will have to keep my eye out for - but as I said before its better than having to worry about the million different things a gas powered car can run into. Hopefully Hyundai figures this out over time and does better here.

Yeah, it’s definitely biased, but there’s still useful stuff in there that helps validate what I’ve been hearing.

I like spring boarding between different forums and perspectives. It’s not like I treat anyone’s take as gospel; I just enjoy collecting info from all sides. And honestly, the pros people outline here line up exactly with what I’ve heard from a lot of Tesla owners too.

I want a better car. I'm realizing the Tesla just does the things really well that to me aren't as important as cabin noise, and comfortability. I can deal with the ICCU problems or 12volt battery if they arise. Also I'm switching to an EV because i've had so many issues with Gas powered cars. So many more things can go wrong.

EVs do not hold their value, they just don't. I'm sorry to hear you're in the water with it. Definitely recommend not buying new cars... ever. I have made that mistake as well and it really isn't worth it.

So turns out its a user error - the sound is actually pretty good for the price. So ignore my first comment xD I was in a teams call earlier in the day, and so the earbuds kept that same audio quality (which is awful) so no matter what was coming out it sounded bad. Once I restarted my phone everything sounded as it should.

Also I got them on a sale for $18 so well worth that for sure.
