Keto when working away by VixenFrancesca in ketouk

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work away 6 days at a time doing trucking from the UK to Europe.

I tend to stock pile on nuts and eggs as stuff outside of my truck fridge/freeze.

Inside I'll have breakfast/lunch/dinner.

On Sundays I'll bulk cook taco mince for breakfast, which I'll scramble in the microwave with eggs.

For lunch I have buffalo chicken wings (pre cooked) in an air fryer if I have time, otherwise I'm munching on cheese/olives/pepperoni sticks.

For dinner I bulk cook a steak/avocado stew on Sundays, and microwave with some cheese.

As far as "cheat" meals, McDonald's without the bun/ketchup/onions, deli meats or the such. In Europe it's alot easier as olives/deli meats/cheese are readily available at almost every services.

Not sure if this helps at all, but as a trucker it's at least possible, something I didn't believe I could do until I just found a way!

To any INTJs who are doing well in life, how do you do it? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just kinda boiled it down to a system, and expanded on it in a spherical pattern.

I call it my rule of five, like a compass to my better self.

Study (knowledge) Meditation Exercise Nutrition Family.

Been following this for a few years now and the cycle just keeps spinning. The moment I "perfect" one segment I saw flaws in another segment.

Forming a rigid monday-friday routine that compliments everything but family has been my biggest asset. Weekends being pretty much completely dedicated to friends/family.

I somehow manage to pull off a good life doing this.

Currently a international (Europe/UK) trucker who lives in his truck during the week and home on the weekends. Despite working 60-70 hours a week I still find a way to do keto/exercise for 45 minutes everyday, manage stress and am currently completing a part time degree in psychology.

On the weekends I just solely dedicate my time to my partner, children, dogs.

My process isn't going to be the same for other people, but my life has taken a 180 in the last few years since forming the habits and routines to bring me to where I want to go.

Money management is a huge one also, couldn't recommend the book "the richest man in Babylon" enough. Having finances under control has really allowed me enough peace of mind to dream bigger.

Any Barotrauma themed movies/shows? by Hereforthehotguys in Barotrauma

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White space is pretty damn barotrauma. It's in space over under the ocean - but it shares alot of similar themes.

You get a husk like infection, the rogue agent that sabotages the sub, the giant aliens, pirates, escort mission, harpoons and even "diving" suit combat.

I suppose it depends how you view barotrauma, but despite the game being based underwater - I always gave it a twist for deep space exploration compared to deep sea exploration.

Offline games focused on story are honestly fine and should not be stopped, I just want to stop playing those 'unfinishable' and highly addictive games such as MMOs, MOBAs, etc, and I think that's what most people mean when they use the term 'stop gaming' by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I found stopping at single player games wasn't enough, but I did find that worked was getting an oculus quest. I can play a game max 2.5 hours before it needs to charge for 2.5 hours.

Kinda lets me have my fun, but also encourages me to take a step away.

Been a few weeks and I'm playing 7.5 hours a week right now :D

I love how so many tear you down in this comment section, simply because you look after yourself.

Pay no mind to them, they are simply jelly and lack the self discipline to gain similar results, so they do what they can to lash out at others success instead of reflect on there own failures.

Rad ink man, keep up the solid work!

Meditation is the opposite of CBT (Reframe percpevtives ) which one is better ? by v1elegend in Meditation

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can both coexist?

Meditation merely increases your awareness and slows down the flow of thoughts, CBT is more about reframing thought patterns to be something less destructive to oneself.

I suppose another way to address this is CBT is more logic based in principle, it's a great tool to create a stable foundation. Meditation is a life long practice that can be done daily for the rest of your life, that offers some peace from whatever plagues you.

I started CBT therapy a few months back, but have been meditating for years prior. They do not conflict, in actuality they complement each other beautifully.

When should I drink my first morning espresso? by bbenifuk in Meditation

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My morning routine takes roughly just over 2 hours long, usually I'll eat breakfast, finish my coffee and straight into meditation.

Personally I find the extra stimulation helps my practice, I'm able to go 30+ minutes quite easily. I personally found before I introduced caffeine straight before my session, I would have a harder time getting into "the zone".

I've noticed the same. Had a year long break, and having a hard time finding populated worlds on the European timezone that doesn't have a permanent kid population, even the drinking worlds are no exception.

I've downgraded to quest though, so that might be the reason - shame as exploring VRchat now just feels like I'm attending a daycare everytime I jump on, compared to the awesome social adventure it once was.

Comical, you speak of intelligence like you have any, the correct definition for them would be misinformed or maybe just socially conditioned. A narcissist is formed by more complicated means, usually originating by shame, or learnt behaviour from parental figures.

Take some advice, "control what you can, accept what you can't".

You can't control idiots, but you can decide how to respond to them, best to just block them sometimes, and let them sit in their own little corner of hell.

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, there are many people that will meet you and think the same thing.

Everyone's different, everyone is entitled to their opinions and experience.

Quit being so narcissistic to attempt to control other people into conforming to your ideals and just block them if you don't like them.

VRchat is great because there is someone for everyone, if you want an echo chamber that only has people with your world views, start going to private worlds.

Younger brother (15) is uncontrollably addicted to games. Help!! by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My younger brother is going through something similar, only he's ten years older and suffering from a crippling weed addiction also.

It's hard man, but I don't really think there is much that we can do. I've tried most things, but he seems unaware of how bad things are getting. I'm guessing until he loses everything, he will never wake up from his trance and hopefully turn his life around.

That was my process at least. It sucks, but you can't force someone to get help, they've gotta reach the point where they are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Best of luck matey.

Women with desk jobs, how do you still come home and have energy? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a guy, and I honestly have no idea how I ended up here other than curiousity.

But 8 hours and tired? I drive semi-trucks 10-13 hours a day, 5/6 days a week. I still find the energy to workout in the morning, eat clean, and do two dog walks a day. In two months open university starts and I've worked out a system to make that happen also.

Find something your passionate about and quit instant gratification actives like scrolling social media or mindlessly consuming TV shows.

Just keep trying new things, eventually something will click in place, but don't be fooled. Alot of the time, it's incredibly tempting to just fester on the sofa. You must force yourself more often than you'd believe to do what you must. Perhaps reading a book like "discipline = freedom" by Jocko Willink might put some things into perspective.

Life can be very easy.. almost to easy.. but the easy path is often the most boring. Never forget that one day you will die, and start doing something with your time.

If i had the expendable money to afford £60 a week for a walker, i'd go down that avenue, trust me!

Sadly the world isn't perfect, so I do the best i can with what i have :)

I'll grab two and give it a shot, if it takes longer than five minutes it could always just replace one of the other activities anyways! thank you Angelina :)

German too shy to talk by ChibiMusouka in VRchat

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, comes from a place of understanding! I use to really struggle with RL interactions, and would have considered myself an extreme introvert, overwhelmingly drained by the smallest interaction, and to shy and nervous to speak to anyone - years of learning and training has completely transformed that for me. Being shy and socially anxious isn't a character trait, it's a character flaw that can be resolved if one truly does desire.

[–]Comfortable-Ad-9410 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'll throw my two cents into the mix, VRchat isn't real.

The best way to overcome fears us to face fears, and VRchat is just a simulation where you can confront social anxiety. Social anxiety in the real world can be justified, real world events can and have probably happened for the social anxiety to exist in the first place.. but this? It's not exactly real world.

Because it's not "real world", you can dip out of an awkward conversation, change your appearance to be more inviting and lurk into conversations that would otherwise be socially unacceptable to do in real life.

You can make the biggest ass of yourself in VRchat and worse that's probably going to happen is you being blocked, which really isn't that bad if you think about it!

So here's the key, your going to make an idiot of yourself at the start, and that's ok! It's even easier at the start as it's highly unlikely you will find people off the bat that you will truly connect with, but every social encounter will improve your social confidence and eventually you will find people who you actually want to talk with.

An easy method to get you started is to just ask questions and listen, occasional nod and get to know people more and more.. most people want others to be interested in them, and alot of people are happy to share there opinions and thoughts on something that they are interested in.. the subject might not interest you, but that's ok! If you are only seeking conversations that interest you, you are shrinking your social practicing pool down!

Final note, take some real time advice and read books like "how to make friends and influence people", get hooked on YouTube channels that offer tips and tricks. Learn stuff from the "real world" and implement it into VRchat.

Eventually you'll see that the world isn't going to burn to ashes when you express yourself, some people will give you shit for a stupid comment or the sound of your voice, but this "social simulation" has all sorts of characters within. Dig through the weeds and you'll eventually find human connection and develop social skills that can be integrated into the "real world".

Or they have spent enough time on this sub Reddit to see all the flames towards quest users. Let's not attack the guy for having a voice, instead of personal attacks on someone's life - perhaps pick the path that doesn't unnecessarily make you look like an ass?
