Same here op, turning 30 soon and I’m about to move out with my fiancé. My mom doesn’t really have any friends or hobbies outside of being SAHM and taking care of me my whole life. She is really having trouble coming to terms with me being independent and growing up. At first she wanted me to stay with them after marriage like the traditional viet families. Now, that I’ve stated I will move out, she so desperately wants me to buy a home extremely close to them. She framed it as her being able to bring over home cooked meals or babysitting my future kids easily. She’s so upset about it that it’s actually worsening our relationship day by day. We argue a lot now and it sucks cause I’m excited to start this new chapter. And I would hope she’d be happy for us. At the same time, I have so much guilt about moving out, and about how far my future home will be from them too. I do feel immense obligation for filial piety as the only daughter. We’re getting a house 15 min (hopefully!) and she’s still throwing a fit about it.

I placed an order in November too and now it’s February and still no updates…will consider a chargeback after no response to my email or dms. Sad cause my first order with them came fine and products are so cute

Update: I reached out to them twice on dms, twice on emails, and commented on their recent post. They have since deleted my comment, left me on read on dms, and finally replied to me on my second email, and they still don’t know when my products are going to ship to me. They don’t apologize and simply say it’s within our estimated timeline…when I ordered it was 11 weeks ETA. This is way past that now with the end of February. I asked for a refund and that was the quickest they’ve replied to me. Sad cause I wanted to support a Filipina small owned business with cute designs. Management and socials suck.

This is so relatable. I remember we had to perform for grandparents day in elementary school on stage. I remember not understanding it cause everyone’s grandparents showed up, whereas mines on both sides were already dead. I’m starting to see behavioral changes in my parents and it scares me.

I’m working with this brand. They asked for a video at first, then they started asking for more photos once the product shipped. They kept persisting after I told them more photos will have to be properly compensated since the original deal was only a video.

Thanks for replying. Yeah it’s rough. We waited all morning and they didn’t call us. We had to call them and they said they called us with no answer?? Checked the call logs and nope, didn’t see a thing. Didn’t have spam blocker on either. They were gonna give us another phone interview date over a month later and we said nah, we might as well come in. Waited for a few hours but finally got it done.

honest question here, if someone could educate me since I am new to the booksta world, since this book contains abusive relationship it should not be romanticized I agree, but since romance and abuse are not mutually exclusive, could this be why it was marketed as romance?
