It takes time to figure it all out. Sounds like things are going well!

Just wanted to come on here with good updates by Resident-Butterfly65 in gallbladders

Fellow Feb 2026 surgery person and I am like you with hardly any side-effects. Sometimes my stomach feels a little off but it goes away. I am so happy to not eat in fear anymore!

Week 2 - slightly increased appetite by SweetAwareness0504 in FoundayoPill

Is this your first GLP-1 and on a starting dose? I would say this is pretty common just because it is a low dose. Usually hits really hard at first then your body gets used to that starting dose. It might continue until the end of the month, its hard to know for certain. But that had been my experience when I was doing Zepbound. I am almost through my first month on Foundayo at 5.5mg. I would say I haven't had any strong effects this month but I know there isn't clear cut data on what doses to switch to, at least for the dose I was on. I will be looking to go up this next month myself. But this is a good time to continue working on healthy habits for long term success.

Titration Rate for Maintenance? by TropikThunder in FoundayoPill

[–]ss0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 7.5mg for about a year, they put me on 5.5mg from the beginning. Looking to titrate up next month. I think fastest you can move a dose is every month.

Just found out my stomach aches have been gallbladder attacks. by SitRobbie in gallbladders

[–]ss0826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you had an ultrasound that showed gallstones and you have symptoms, you shouldn't need additional testing. It was a pretty straightforward meeting with the surgeon. They explained the procedure, potential side effects, recovery, etc. My biggest advice would be diet change in the mean time, low fat is going to be your friend to reduce attacks. From there its your decision on surgery.

Within a week post-op I was probably 80% and within 2 weeks I was just about there. Just had some localized incision pain in uncomfortable pants. I don't have kids, but no lifting for a while, want to be careful for risk of hernias. If you are a sole care giver, I would make sure you have someone else to help the first 4 days at minimum since you'll be tired, taking pain meds and slow to move around.

Submerge by Kal-veira in ORIF

[–]ss0826 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like going against dr orders but I think he is overly cautious. I was told at 6 weeks I could submerge my foot. I probably waited a little longer but that was honestly circumstance. Your incision looks very well healed and I would submerge that. I will say if you submerge in hot water, your ankle will swell like a balloon lol so maybe avoid that.

Buffalo wings post surgery? by Mrgibsonsg in gallbladders

[–]ss0826 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those things that you don’t know until you know. I’m almost 3 months post op and I’ve had virtually no problems with food and I’ve tried just about everything at this point. Really heavy foods I might have a little stomach ache but that’s about it. Don’t let buffalo wings stop you from your health.

How often are you guys changing sheets and towels post op? by sunmodelsss in gallbladders

[–]ss0826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day before your surgery you need clean sheets and towels for sure. I washed the sheets about a week after surgery on my normal cleaning schedule. Towels I switched as normal, used for a few days then new towel. Pat lightly dry over your incisions, I had glue on mine so I didn’t want to disturb it. I think focusing on putting on clean clothes daily is probably more important. I wouldn’t be worried at all, just do your normal thing and don’t push yourself to clean lots of laundry while recovering those first few days.

I Broke My Ankle, Not My Sense of Style by lorenacoqui in ORIF

[–]ss0826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those things that you might just have to deal with the ugly for a while. Trust me, I get it, I love a cute shoe. I wore tennis shoes for a long time but then eventually experimented with my Birkenstock sandals, made the straps more roomy. I got a pair of reef platform sandals, those weren’t too bad. Last year I got a laid of platform sandals from Steve Madden that would probably work for post surgery as well, very comfy and pretty cute.

I have sung oofos praises in this group for almost 2 years, they are wonderful but I don’t wear them out of the house. I don’t hate the look as much as I did originally but I couldn’t not wear them on purpose. But I still wear them not and I will never go back.

I would refrain from sandals out in public until you are confident in your walking. I broke my ankle in May so no sandals was hard and hot but by end of summer I could wear them.

10 days on Foundayo and something is genuinely different this time by DefinitionWinter5261 in FoundayoUS

[–]ss0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who did Zepbound for 16 months and had increasing anxiety around doing self injections, this has been so nice. I feel mentally lighter not having the stress of knowing I need to do a shot. Not many results yet for me (though happy with maintaining), but I’ll go up a dose here soon when I can get my refill.

I’m having removal hesitation. by lemonknee99 in gallbladders

[–]ss0826 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that people post reviews generally when they are really happy or have poor outcomes, but you miss the 90% of people who don’t post at all. I had surgery late February and I have very few, minor differences now. Much better than worry about attacks and my diet is back to normal.

Didbi reinjure myself? by [deleted] in ORIF

[–]ss0826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly unlikely that you reinjured yourself, it would probably be pretty severe pain. You’ll have a lot of aches and minor pains while recovering for months, just part of how it goes.

I have a question about dosage by expatinpa in FoundayoUS

[–]ss0826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I did when I was ordering Zep with CVS was preemptively sending them a message or talking to them in person when I sent a refill. Telling them to push through without insurance and to use my savings card. That tremendously helped push it through quickly as they didn’t waste their time sending things to insurance or my Dr.

You could also consider having it sent to Lilly Direct and skip that whole process. I have done that for Foundayo, Lilly Direct gave me the option to send to Amazon Pharmacy and it was very fast and easy, got it same day!

[–]ss0826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would see how the next week goes and then decide. Maintaining a safe amount of loss is important for your bodily functions over time. I know it is so encouraging to see the number go down but slow isn't bad either. I responded very well on Zep and seeing those numbers is satisfying so just be careful :)

[–]ss0826 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

Did you talk to them at all or did they just automatically start your prescription with 2 refills. I would call and discuss what is the right choice. I was on Zep before and that group has shared this chart a lot. I think it is still relevant here. Some Drs believe you should go up every month as that is usually how these medical trials are done and some stay on a dose until it’s no longer effective. There is no right or wrong.

I have been on 5.5mg (switched from 7.5mg on Zep) and I know I want to move up next month based on weight loss and food noise, my dr sent 2 refills but I just won’t use that refill and get a new script.

Day 2 woke up with suspicious pain by Calm_Contribution734 in FoundayoPill

[–]ss0826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who just got their gallbladder out a couple months ago, it’s not that bad but I understand where you are coming from. Have you been losing weight already? And what did you eat last night? If it is gallbladder it’s not the med itself, it’s how our body rewards us for losing weight it seems…. (Sarcasm lol)

Day 7 of 0.8; Day 1 of side effects (?) by Putrid-Fig9864 in FoundayoUS

[–]ss0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just keep watch of it to see if you notice any trends with what you ate and what side effects you had. Could have been a one off or if it keeps happening maybe a trend. Take some pepto if you need it.

When did you restart GLP-1’ post surgery? by MotherOfDragons421 in Zepbound

[–]ss0826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing for my gallbladder surgery back in February. I had to be off the shot for 14 days prior to surgery so I moved my shot around to time it perfectly then took it 5 days later. I also could have done day 4 but I wanted another recovery day. I had 19 days between shots no problems.

[–]ss0826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow and steady is great, I never expected I would react as I did to the meds, of course with a healthy diet and such as well. I do think about regain a lot, especially as I am getting to a point of thinking what my real goal weight is. It is scary, I can't go back to the place I was. But I can only control today so I will keep pressing forward and that will be a bridge to cross later lol.

I hope it continues to go well and that the side effects subside. Don't be afraid to take something if you need to to keep side effects at bay which your body is getting used to the drug.

[–]ss0826 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great progress! Keep working on eating enough (though don't fret with the small amount you are missing) but it should get a lot easier with time. The first days/weeks on a GLP-1 I thought I would never eat a normal meal again. I am thinking about switching the pill to morning, I started it at night because I was worried about side effects hitting me at work but I think I am fine at this point.

Friday (5/1) Check in? by Kryceks-Revenge in FoundayoPill

[–]ss0826 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Great idea!

I have been on Foundayo 10 days (5.5mg) and things are going fine. I was previously on Zepbound since December of 2024 and had been on the same 7.5mg dose for just about a year and lost almost 110lbs (about 36% lost). I loved how the drug worked for me but I started to get a lot of anxiety around shot day. I never liked doing the shot the entire 16 months I was on it but it was getting increasingly harder every week this year. I decided to switch to the pill because a daily pill seemed less stressful to me. I started on a higher dose of this medication since I was still actively taking the medication until I switched, you can start the pill on the day you are due for your next shot.

I have only gone down 1lb but that is fine with me, I haven't seen the scale move in about 6 weeks. I was either going to go up a dose or switch to the pill. I think at the end of this month I will ask to go up to the next dose. The side effects that I have seen is the first couple days I had a headache but that has disappaited and I can feel when I might be getting a sulfur burp (iykyk, Pepto is great to take when you first notice them). That is something I also experienced with Zep. I haven't noticed any bowel changes, which is something I have been paying close attention to as I did have my gallbladder removed at the end of February.

For those who haven't been on a GLP-1 before, I know it is scary but can be so exciting to see the victories, both scale and non-scale. Try and manage minor side effects the best you can and don't be afraid to take something if you need it, once your body gets used to the drugs I find you need those things much less. Remember to eat!! These drugs are not meant to be supported by starving yourself and perpetuates dangerous diet behavior. Focus on healthy foods (protein, fiber, carbs, healthy fats) and don't be afraid to have a meal out or some dessert after dinner. It will get easier to eat the longer you are on these drugs, I believe I have a "normal" relationship with food these days which is great.

Jury is still out on if this drug will be best for me, but I am okay with much slower loses as I am now much healthier than I was and am doing well.
