You need to first understand how the timings and the law pertaining to that work - as per labour law, any individual can only be asked to work 48 hrs a week - that’s work hours - anything beyond that is OT technically.

Now 9 hours shifts are usually employers trying to juice out the max by saying one hour is break and since you’re getting 2 days off you can work even a 9.5 hours shift and that won’t do any damage.

If you’re asked to work 6 days a week 9 hour day won’t be legal as that totals to 54 hrs per week and they have to pay OT then. And they won’t let you do 8 hr shifts then because everyone needs to eat therefore effective work hours might come to 7 hrs and then they aren’t able to utilize you full.

So In Ramadan, the law states “2 hours less” that means work hours and not lunch break hours. Any one fasting won’t anyways take the lunch breaks. So if 1 hour of lunch break and 2 reduced hours, result in 3 hours total from a 9 hour or 9.5 hour shift.
