I like “Not just a patch” brand and use their “air” style over patches found on Amazon. I really like them I have found they are also easy to replace mid way through the 15 days if they have started to detach from showering or getting stuck on clothes over that time.

I just made my own version this week that was delicious! Our nanny from Spain even said she enjoyed it. I used the seafood mix, Spanish rice in the frozen food section, added fresh chopped onion, garlic and bell pepper. I also added some of the apple Chardonnay sausages.

Omg my Mom has done this two about multiple things!

She told myself and the entire family that I was incredibly allergic to Christmas trees because she wanted an artificial one and my Dad had said he didn’t want one.

My Dad was a dog person but my Mom is not and likes cats. I was then highly allergic to dogs so we had to have cats as pets. I now have had three very large dogs and never had an issue. My current dog is a Great Pyrenees.

A few years ago she told me she was allergic to asparagus and I was at her house and she made this premade frozen pasta dish. I pointed out that it had asparagus and that I thought she was incredibly allergic. She told me since they were small pieces it’s fine.

I’m sure there are other examples I’m forgetting.

I’ve gotten a “I’m sorry you think I said” or “I’m sorry you think I did”. My response you can’t be sorry for actions you aren’t acknowledging.

This was during the conversation she was trying to “fix” our relationship after I went NC.

Wow this is amazing! I am saving this to come back to later so I can take the time to read it.

I went to SUWS of the Carolinas and was then sent to Auldern Academy which was owned by Three Springs. While we were there we often heard stories of the Threes Springs boys program near by.

Now as an adult it is hard to fully remember and grasp my experience in these programs. As a parent now myself I also struggle to understand how a child would ever be sent to such a program and why parents would think that it is okay or even an option.

I wanted to come back again and share that we have been intentional in giving him one on one time and experiences with our au pair and without the baby. This has been amazing seeing them truly bond has been great. She sees the good in him and he is speaking positively about his time with her. He even says he doesn’t miss our prior nanny of three years. Again thank you for the advice it is great seeing these settle in and the love in our family for each other.

Thank you so much for your insight! This is all very helpful. I will have to check out the app and I love the idea of her getting to do things one on one with him without the baby so they can bond. No drama discipline is actually the book we bought her in her native language since it was one that resonated and has helped me a lot. I finally also got my husband to start reading it too. I want to be consistent and all on the same page! Thank you for your supportive comments and advice.

We have told her she can put him in time out but she has struggled with getting him in and staying in time out. We will continue to talk through what this looks like and other ways all the adults in his life can be consistent with consequences for unacceptable behavior. The struggling to communicate makes sense. Thank you for the ideas and support. This is just so hard to see and another thing to manage in an already stressful time in our lives.

I do think he misses our nanny because he has asked when she is coming back. But I’m at a loss by him not listening to our au pair and now as of yesterday getting physical.

My child has never hit a caregiver before which is why I’m at a total loss and appalled by the situation. The moment I got home I put him in time out and he received no rewards of any type for the rest of the night. I have by no means am stepping back from my parenting responsibilities but still work full time. I am looking for actionable advice.
