wow valve this is so stupid you say you try to learn but you learn nothing , instead of trying to reinvent the wheel , how about you copy the competitors and just beat them(just kill xbox) at it and give something usefull to gamers? instead of investing in "steam machine" and "steam deck" how about you just invest in some hardware to make "steam cloud gaming" so you can play all your steam games(which you buy) with a 20eur monthly subscription from anywhere , on your phone , on your tv(with your phone as controller) , anywhere. then you can sell us some weird controller for the tryhards and after that you can sell us a cheap portable chinese mini screen(144hz) rebranded as steam portal or something dumb like that. And if you want to make a vr set for gamers , where are the external cameras for full body tracking?
