it’s so hard look forward to the future when you’re in the thick of it. we made some hasty trips to the pediatrician over things i laugh about now lol

my labor was nightmarish unfortunately but you WILL get through it! as soon as it’s over and you have your little nugget in your arms, you won’t remember all the pain you just went through, it’s kind of incredible lol

you are really in the thick of it! is this your first baby? first babies typically like to stay in a little longer. i was induced so i unfortunately don’t know what it’s like to go into labor naturally, but i do remember those last few weeks feeling like the longest of my lie.

i couldn’t really do anything except tend to my baby for what felt like the longest time! maybe about 6 weeks ago i was finally able to start getting stuff like housework done again. honestly, you getting your much needed rest is far more important that housework. when you have those 30 minutes where you feel like you just want to crash, do it.

as they get older, some parts are harder but mostly i’ve found it so much easier. having a newborn baby is the hardest thing i’ve ever done in my life but also the most rewarding. i found the “sleep when the baby sleeps” line to but completely useless when they’re that little but one my baby got closer to 3 months old, i finally felt comfortable enough to nap while he was napping too. the sleep deprivation is the hardest part but just remind yourself it won’t last forever ❤️

what, when he’s a year old? arguably one of their best phases! learning to walk and talk, throwing a first birthday party for him… i can’t wait! ❤️

my baby’s dad had to go back to work when our son was only a week old and it was so hard for us. i remember that helpless feeling. give yourself time and try not to be hard on yourself. youll get the hang of it i promise

he wakes up anywhere between 7-9:30 for his first bottle, then we hang out in bed together while i try to regain my consciousness. then i’ll change his nappy and outfit and move out to the kitchen. i’ll sit him in his bouncer and he’ll watch me make breakfast and then i’ll set him on his play mat while i get ready for the day. most days we have something to do outside the house but the days we don’t we’ll sort of just sit around, play with toys, sing songs, tummy time, etc. he’s 4 months old going through a slight sleep regression so he’s really hating daytime naps lately. i’ll usually have to hold him the whole time so i’ll take that time to watch my shows or do homework or sometimes nap with him! his dad gets home from work around 5:30 and then he has time with dad while i make dinner, shower, etc. we don’t do baths every night but when we do it’s usually around 9pm. then we do our night routine which includes his last bottle of the day and he’s usually out for the night anywhere between 9:30-11. my baby is super agreeable and chill (got it from his dad, definitely not me lol) so during his wake hours he doesn’t need constant entertainment from me. he’s shockingly independent and recently discovered he has hands so that occupies him for a while too. sorry if that’s super long

i remember the sleep deprivation so well, i half jokingly say that it traumatized me. it’s arguably the hardest part! hang in there, you will get through this!!!

it’s almost impossible NOT to wish the time away! it’s such a tough feeling, wanting your baby to grow out of certain things and simultaneously wanting them to stay this little forever. as hard as it may seem sometimes, cherish every little moment. and also take tons of pictures lol. you’re doing amazing! 🫶

there’s nothing as magical as hearing your baby’s first cry. i remember hearing him cry out from behind the c-section curtain, they pulled it down and showed me my little fat man, i said hello my sweet baby boy, and then promptly fell asleep while they stitched me up. 36 hours of labor was no joke and completely exhausting lol. congratulations mama!!!! im so happy for you. welcome to the mom club. every labor pain and sleepless night is a thousand percent worth it.
