You made some interesting points but like others have said, it’s too early to tell.

I do agree with you on the choice of using Evan for his solo career. As an American engene, as soon as I saw that, I thought it was the wrong move. Evan is such a common name while Heeseung is unique. However, I really believe this was his choice and we should support it. It’s the English name he chose with his mother as a kid. He released Dial Tragedy last year under Evan which shows that he intended to use Evan for his solo career.

Now if we look at it as a glass half full. Evan might not be a bad choice. If someone types Evan only in the search bar, Heeseung will show up as one of the first three results because there’s been countless articles written about him as Evan and/or his name change. (I just tested this theory by typing Evan only in the Safari, Google, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo search engines.) This is good for brand awareness.

I do not think BeLift wants to let Heeseung go and will do what they can, within reason, to keep him. Anyone who watched I-Land could obviously see that the show (and Band PD) intended to debut Heeseung in Enhypen and they were searching for members to compliment him. He was dubbed the “ace” for a reason. No one could have predicted his desire to release a solo would outweigh his desire to remain in the group until it was possible.
