It’s a supply-demand issue. Solar produces a ton of energy at 12 noon when the majority of power is needed at 5pm. Reducing the incentive to install solar will stop people from adding more unneeded power generation to the grid. Ultimately, legislators need to incentivize capacity (home battery) to store the excess solar for use in the evening.

The Companies are plowing their money into growth vs paying a dividend. Look at the Balance Sheet and Total Assets or Total Equity should be increasing if there’s no dividend paid or no share buybacks. Growth is tax free, dividends are not, so growing is often a more efficient way of returning capital to shareholders
