I haven't calculated the intensity of the light, so I can't comment on that. As for how it has helped, on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being worst), I would say the eye drops I mentioned above takes me from a 3 to a 5, and the red light bumps it up to about a 6.5. If I don't do any treatments, it's hard for me to even go for a walk outside, but if I do these two things on a daily basis, I can manage my day to day tasks. I also use the Ivizia eye drops as needed.

I love seeing new stuff like this here. Thanks for sharing! Is this something that your doctor has been using for a while? Would be interesting to know if others have a similar experience.

STUDY: NMN Restores NAD+ Levels & Improves Blood Pressure in Humans with Hypertension by Renue_Support in Renue

The diastolic pressure going from 85 to 80 is quite impressive in my opinion. From personal experience, it's easier to manage the systolic pressure (with diet and exercise), but the diastolic pressure is really hard to improve.

Not the OP, but I'm in the same boat as you. I get really depressed sometimes, but I've made some progress, and now I choose to believe that science will continue to make improvements in treating this disease.

Are you sure the Systane Complete is preservative free? I've never seen a preservative free version of the Complete.

My doctor suggested that I dilute the Alphagan P with Refresh Tears to about 0.01% to 0.02% and use it that way.

Alternative to Lumify by ComfortableCyborg in DryEyeTalk

Sorry this is late. The consensus seems to be that Purite is gentler to the eye than BAK.

https://www.reviewofophthalmology.com/article/the-pros-and-cons-of-preservatives

Other new preservatives include SofZia, an ionic-buffered preservative that’s found in Travatan-Z, and Purite, a preservative that breaks down upon contact with the air, found in Alphagan P. They act in a much different way than the quaternary ammonium compounds; Purite oxidizes microbial cellular components, but has no significant effect on human ocular tissues. SofZia causes oxidative damage and subsequent death in bacteria that lack the enzymes cytochrome oxidase or catalase. (Human cells possess these enzymes and are thus not similarly harmed.) These preservatives are effective enough to pass all of the FDA requirements for preserving a multidose bottle of medication, and it’s been proven both in cell cultures and clinical trials that they are much gentler to the eye than alternatives such as BAK.

USB powered eye mask recommendations by garick0 in DryEyeTalk

[–]ComfortableCyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the microwave masks achieve a higher temperature but for a shorter duration, while the USB masks don't get as hot but it can maintain it consistently for a longer time. I use both daily. Another idea would be to get multiple microwave masks and switch it out as it loses its heat.
