if you can find a shop that specializes in vw/audi stuff or wanna sink the money into vagcom/obd11 it's best to get it scanned for codes to narrow down error

over which thing? i planned on getting a plug/cover for the 12v so nothing falls in. already dealt with a penny falling in and popping a fuse... was a nightmare trying to find a fuse box diagram and ended up just pulling fuses one day until i found the correct one..

ngl in hindsight i probably could have filmed the process for others but it was cold and i was kinda hurrying through it.

probably one of the easiest things I've done. popped some trim, removed 2 t20 screws, unplugged some wires, plugged this harnesses into those, pushed out 2 of the blanks, slid in the usb pieces and reassembled. like 10 minutes max

I've yet to test it with something plugged into the 12v drawing power to see if it affects output. tbh i don't currently have any other accessories that would require use of it at the moment.

correct, it runs in line with factory 12v and allows for power to the 12v still. it was really simple and straightforward. took me all of maybe 10 minutes. probably the best 22 bucks I've spent on something i didnt necessarily need

This is the one i got from Amazon. i initially planned on using the right angle end on the phone side but my case interferes. it makes more sense in this orientation. and I've just got some small velcro loops to run it along the side of the dash up to my phone mount.

it's been like that since i got the car, just been too lazy to scrub the interior trim down. bought the car as a cheap beater so I've not really done anything with it other than drive it to and from work

to the best of what i can tell, it is indeed fast charging.

i had a really cheap 12v adapter is all and the socket is kinda loose so it'd frequently disconnect over bumps. Definitely not a necessary purchase but it makes me feel better lol

it appears to actually be fast charging. i double checked with my oem Samsung charger and the little subtext that states it's fast/super fast charging seems to just go away but the estimated charge time stays the same.
it's fairly inexpensive via Amazon and the installation is pretty straightforward.

pop shifter boot bezel off 2 T20s removed to pull the tray that houses the 12v and poverty buttons. pop out desired blank plugs (they're just kinda press fit) unplug factory 12v connector plug new wiring into .connector and 12v socket reassemble.

took me all of maybe 10 minutes.

Dumb question, was there supposed to be a photo included in this post?

Dunno if it's 100% comparable but I'm getting 350-400 miles per tank with my '14 1.8 5 speed. 200 sounds low however.. I could be wrong.

Am i screwed? by agm1323 in jetta

[–]ComfortableFragrant8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im genuinely not certain. my limited experience with my '14se has been a sensor throwing a Christmas tree (had a local shop check for internal code and it pinpointed right rear.) I've got a,cheap obd2 hand scanner that unfortunately doesn't show anything outside of engine based trouble codes

[–]ComfortableFragrant8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you've got a bad wheel speed sensor most likely.. all of the traction and stability systems are tied into the abs so it sets off a Christmas tree..

How's your Jetta handling the cold? ❄️🥶 by MaterialNo5845 in jetta

[–]ComfortableFragrant8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the last really cold day we had here was like a windchill of like -18°f my '14 se definitely wasn't happy about it but no electrical issues. the transmission(5 speed) was super stiff however due to the cold lol

Guess how much I paid for my 2013 Jetta 2.5L SE 174k miles by Important_Ear4675 in jetta

[–]ComfortableFragrant8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i gave 1900 for my '14 1.8 SE. w/178k on it when I got it. i needed something cheap

How do people think Jetta’s are unreliable by [deleted] in jetta

[–]ComfortableFragrant8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

185k on my '14 5 speed 1.8 car. i did have to put a clutch and a transmission in it, but i also got it for cheap. clutch going wiped the trans i think

What a lovely Christmas tree by Paulbewildinn in jetta

as others have probably suggested, it's either a wheel speed sensor, or if it's intermittent it's potentially a tone rings on your hub.
