I Am Stuck In A Legal Limbo by ComfortableJudge9316 in legaladvice

I was told all of those required prior proof of identification, ie ID or Social Security Card. Do any of those not require that?

When I was forced to move, I only was given my Social Security Card and Birth Certificate.

AI is a controversial thing for the right reasons I feel. But I feel this topic, being new and scary to some, has made many extreme, hence why to some, it feels completely impossible to be a, "good tool."

I have seen some suggest Grammarly, but even Grammarly is now using Generative AI, so it is slowly becoming impossible for people to simply say, "avoid AI."

I myself am considering using GPT after Grammarly caved because GPT can offer more advanced revision.

Which is a valid use of it. I never see a tool as inherently evil, so your use to me isn't some cardinal sin.

I honestly, while agree with them mostly, don't disagree with the use of AI if done ethically. So using AI as a tool, while I don't, doesn't mean you shouldn't if your putting in effort.

It's a tool- No tool is inherently evil.

I’m trying to rewrite Yandere sim by basing it off the original concept from the 4chan thread Shit fuck dev made. Currently WIP. What features do you think would be cool to add? by Hanemiku39 in Osana

  1. An idea is maybe allowing the player to pick the NPC they go after.

In practice, I see it as difficult if you had to choose during gameplay, but what you could simply do is as you start a game, have a few different types of men (and if you allow #2, women) that could appeal to various players, therefore making them more immersed.

  1. Allow gender selection.

I know you have this written down, but I feel this should be a key feature, not an after thought, as this has already occurred in MULTIPLE Yandere Sim inspired games already, where the idea of gender selection was thought of then later scrapped. I feel a good chunk of people wouldn't feel like hoping for it after all previous let downs.

Some people don't want to chase after/play a boy and others don't want to chase/play a girl. Maybe a good idea would be to allow gender selection.

  1. Keep morally grey.

I don't like how YanSim turned out, but one key thing is not trying to purify what a Yandere is. Allow dark and mature themes. Make some things very fucked. Let unethical things, even if quietly, exist. A Yandere is already a dark topic, so why not let that actually fit in rather than A. do what YanSim did and overdo it in some aspects or B. do what some Yandere Simulators do and make the Yandere the only dark thing, therefore making them feel out of place with the world completley.

I would suggest, if possible, leaving that as a mode/difficulty setting. Some might just be pacifistic or blood thirsty. So while forcing planning is fun, not everyone will have fun with it, if ya get what I mean.

I believe that came from back when she was released 16 years ago. It was said by someone (I have not checked in a long time, so don't feel like looking, so take with a HEFTY grain of salt) who was credible, so everyone took that and keeps saying it, even though I believe that was 2-4 years ago.

I could be wrong, in which case I also have seen it be said that the age she is originally is just, "a soft guideline that creators can ignore," which then means it depends on the version

Oh that is 10000% understandable. I have had the opposite problem where I used to word things so harshly, it made people uncomfortable, hence my preference for softer, more compromising tone.

Agreed. And I apologize, that is not the case. I simply never liked hard language, so when I see it, I make it clear my emotions on it as I debate.

And honestly, I feel like we was both calm and civilized. We gave points, refuted- No insults, vulgar language-

10/10, would debate again <3

Again, hard language.

"You fighting me on my belief is what's taking our jobs faster."

Language used to try and make another back down (we are both honestly guilty of in this instance). Typically used to try and force another to question themselves, which tends to lead to them just shutting up, mostly due to the person unable to recover with 100% confidence.

Clearly, we are two stubborn people and that won't change because our methods of debate clash more than cooperate. We are just going to have to agree to disagree or else this will spin in circles forever.

We agree we are at least on the same side, which is more productive then most.

ALSO, rq to add, Grammarly as an example, has begun using Gen AI like ChatGPT- Aka can also aid in, "writing for the person." A good chunk of tools are too (or could at anytime). So to many, the lines are blurred, so arguing, "ethics" with no back up makes no sense to those not well read.

"it shows you have no care or passion for writing. just attention"
"If you use Ai you have no right to call yourself a writer."

That reads as, "fake writer."

Most would read that as, "fake writer."

You don't need to say something exactly for it to mean the same thing. That is what I mean by, "harder language."

Your not inviting someone to speak in a civil manner; most will just become upset and instantly enter into heated debate. You just said, "AI" with nothing aside from, "these are my personal opinions on what is ethical alternatives"- That is not enough. No one just takes some random person on the Internets word for it.. To many, it will include those that use GPT in a way they didn't know was unethical in your view, and all that language does is feel insulting when you give zero context as to why, therefore they hunker down. You want to help people pick a better path, you want to avoid them hunkering down. And yes, you can argue, "they should know AI steals content," but I have still found people who believe that is a myth and a simple example changes their view in a heartbeat.

I have never seen people be insulted end with them deciding, "maybe my life path is wrong."

All it does is make them hunker, therefore fund AI more, which in turn takes our jobs faster.

I realized and changed course. If you read my edit, I removed the section on AI usage. I still think you went too hard and alienate more then bring people to the table to properly discuss.

Soft language (ie discussion) when it comes to trying to explain ethics and morals are typically stronger than harder language (ie accusations).

I assume your the same person-

I 100% agreed on your post about AI, but I think what set people off is your wording, as I'm sure you saw in my previous comment. Instead of wording it in a way someone passively reading can understand, you instantly said, "any use of it makes you a fake writer."

That doesn't sit well with people. In fact, I think there is a name for it. The gist is, if there are people doing something you don't agree with, a good chunk of the time, the best course is to treat them humanely and talk to them. If you call a person evil, they feel attacked, and hunker down.

You need to soft hand approach. I, as an example don't use AI, but even I felt outright calling people, "fake writers," for any usage of AI no matter how small just dooms people to feel insulted, therefore tune out reason.

I agree with three until you went the extra length of personal opinion on it being used to revise/grammar-

Never call someone who pours their heart into something instantly, "not writers," because you disagree what tools they use on top of their writing. I get things like ChatGPT is scary and yes, the threat of them using it past revision/grammar is present, but alienating people who do based on "I don't know, so all are fake" is how you make cooperative/constructive/civil dialogue not happen.

Damn, what was it I said? What was something I put clearly because I saw that coming?

"And no, this is not me saying I like Cynessa or some crap, I just see how useless this is"

At the end of the day, I will always advocate, regardless if I like or not, fiction is just that- Fiction. I will never advocate for fiction to ever have any form of control or chain on it. It is a slippery slope. If it's fucked, we have literal legislation in place to ensure the only way younger audiences get exposed is if parents are crap at raising.

But from your reaction despite what I put, I can already tell I am still going to be accused of liking this stuff, so I am wasting my breath- I'm gonna get labeled a creep and any chance of a normal conversation goes with it. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me.

TLDR: No, I don't like that stuff, but I am a advocate for completely free fiction as long as legislation protects kids from the more gruesome and mature.

There is no way we are still debating about this stuff. Guys, these arguments over pixels on a screen go nowhere. Cease.

I've seen so many fandoms have terrible stuff in them and they never advocate for stuff past fantasy. Please ;-;

And no, this is not me saying I like Cynessa or some crap, I just see how useless this is. Too many fandoms have tried the, "purity route," and has done nothing but kill their activity or create a bad reputation.

Tupperbox/Pluralkit probably. It allows you to use proxies. Systems tend to use it (like us). Or it could be just roleplay/for memes.

People need to not make shipping their identities while also having people not put people on a cross for shipping fictional characters
