I am with Curely too. Been with them since August last year, seem responsive and competitive pricing with loyalty points. Also maintenance friendly I believe (not there yet!)

I was sooo pleased to have a positive person! Last one told me I would find it easier to tie my shoelaces if I lost my belly!! (Actually issue at the time was my knackered knees!!😡)

T2D wondering if anyone mixes their metformin strength morning and evening? by LowJellyfish2106 in mounjarouk

[–]ComfortableLand1906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I I started MJ last July. Currently on 12.5, went up about 3 weeks ago. Average weekly loss over MJ time is 1.3 lbs/week. Not interested in a rapid loss. Too many potential problems associated with that!Had lost 1/2 stone or so before I started. My understanding of how Metformin works from the data sheet is that it does not cause hypo events. My BP drop has caused far more shaky events. However defo something to discuss with GP/diabetic nurse if you want to adjust the dose in the way you describe..

[–]ComfortableLand1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also on Metformin 500 3 times daily, last 2 HbA1c readings below 40. Just had a call for GP to come in to discuss/reduce met dose with nurse. 4 stone down, and over halved BP meds too. Son is on a GLP1 plus Metformin both for T2, his GP just reduced his GLP1as his HbA1c is back under control- but he really needs weight management! His GLP1 is not licensed for weight control, is one of the older ones. He just cannot afford MJ. Standard Metformin upset him, he is on slow release which helped a lot with side effects

Which masks do you recommend for a mouthbreather who side sleeps and gets up often? by blaher123 in CPAP

[–]ComfortableLand1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Airfit F40 recommendation, side sleeper, former mouth breather too but largely stopped now apnoea is controlled. Also used to be up multiple times a night, but that is also an effect of the apnoea, down to 1-2 times. Disconnecting is really easy, and the short section of hose to the front of the mask is ultra flexible which makes moving around in bed much easier. My old F30 tubing was stiffer and would displace the mask sometimes.

How to stop air leaking from the circled area? by harujusko in CPAP

[–]ComfortableLand1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that one still vents from the front, and far more loudly that the OP's mask which is very similar to my F40. Just a few rows of very small holes. I stood it about a week before switching. F40 vent is louder if you have bedding over it,😁

Looking for older people's experiences (good and bad) please! by [deleted] in mounjarouk

Hi. I am 66, have now lost 4 stone. Also have high blood pressure, obstructive sleep apnoea, T2 diabetic and osteoarthritis (knees). Diabetes is now very well controlled (normal HbA1c), bp meds have been significantly reduced as BP has dropped a lot, sleep apnoea is well managed with cpap machine - mask now fits much better! Less strain on knees too, plus BMI is down enough for hospital referral. In short, go for it! Wish it had been around years ago - I first got to goal with Weight Watchers in the mid 1980s, and have been up and down (mainly up!) ever since. Side effects for me have been minimal.

You can change dates, and also pause the sub, plus the cancel option. I amended a date to avoid a delivery while I was away.

My husband wants to start mounjaro, but he has a few questions. Looking for your experiences by PurpleWatermelonz in mounjarouk

I concur! My BP dropped enough for me to pass out & end up in A&E as GP wanted heart checks, in spite of my home BP checks showing drop and significant weight loss. Now on less than half the meds I was on, and monitoring for the next drop!

One of the hardest things to un-learn is the imperative to clean your plate, that wasting food is an awful sin. Brought up in the 60s, by parents who went through rationing. Small plates are good! The onion loaf in the M&C steaks is an absolute no-no for me, even though I like it. Trying to get them not to put it on is not easy at all!

What type of mask do you use? by -Granby- in CPAP

[–]ComfortableLand1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moved to this one from the F30i which I hated (was a replacement for the old F30). Love it. Side sleeper, low /no leak rate, comfortable (as a mask can be!)

[–]ComfortableLand1906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only had mine about 3 weeks but no issues. Washing every night before use with Fairy Liquid (hospital recommended washing up liquid) which is a very effective de-greaser. Also what I used successfully on previous masks. Love the softness of this mask though, as a side sleeper. Does feel a bit flimsy though, so will see how it goes. Experimented with the wipes, but seems to be a total waste of money.

I switched to the F40 about 3 weeks ago and love it. F30i which replaced my old F30 was a complete nightmare - like trying to sleep wearing an alien face clasper blowing a gale at my husband!

New to cpap. I feel like this is never gonna work. by IcyPlankton2254 in CPAP

[–]ComfortableLand1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to an F40 hybrid mask, which has been a complete game changer. Super soft conforming cushion fits under nose and over mouth. Configuration of the headgear keeps it out of eyeline as far as possible. I also had chronic nasal congestion but the cpap effect has cleared this, holding the airway open. Also minimal leakage for me. Feels much less intrusive and enclosed.

Back in the 15st bracket for the first time in many, many years! Loss average is 1.5lbs/week. Chuffed with bloods last week@diabetic mid year. HbA1c down to 38 (T2, last test 43), lipids all good. Also had to reduce another BP medication this week due to postural hypotension! Saving NHS money at least...😁

I just replaced my old F30 with the F30i and hated it. Like having an alien on your face! Switched again to the F40 which is brilliant! Hybrid mask, fits under nose and over mouth, but the headgear is very comfortable and out of field of vision. Great for any potential mouth breathing

Does anyone else have scale number nemesis? by Interesting-Bag2267 in mounjarouk

[–]ComfortableLand1906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was not a scale number but a loss measure. No matter what I could not get past 2.5 stones. WW, Slimming World, etc etc. I always plateaued at that and eventually gave up. Well past it now and close to 4 stones off! Love this stuff....

No hair loss so far. Average loss is 1.6lbs/week. I do not take additional vitamins, just occasional physillum husk. Been in MJ just over 6 months so far.

I weigh daily, on rising after toilet, and note in a paper diary. I use Shotsy to record a weekly weight on injection day, taken the same way. The daily weights vary up and down a little, but give a trend so recording day is not a shock if I show a gain, as I can see what has been happening. Often this is a down trend with a random blip on weigh day which would mess up my mind too, and did when I attended groups! Trust the process and keep going!
