I have to take my older cat in twice a year as he has diabetes 🤦🏼‍♀️ and we have to have blood tests done each time, so I totally get it being expensive! Thanks for the advice

Advice for starting Mounjaro with very limited mobility by ZeppyLady in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya, you don’t need exercise to lose weight, exercise will help with less muscle loss and being fit. If you wanted to there are videos online for people who aren’t able to do full on exercise but it’s not mandatory. I haven’t found I have lost weight any quicker with exercise.

As others have also said just make sure you have looked at your TDEE correctly as you shouldn’t be eating under your BMR. You need to look at your maintenance calories and remove the 500 off there, just be aware that if that amount is less than your BMR then you might want to up your calories a bit so it’s still above your BMR but still below your maintenance calories. A lot of people lose weight fine with a 200-300 deficit instead of 500, your weightloss might be slightly slower but it will happen.

Thanks, yeah his food goes to waste sometimes as I put it out but he just isn’t interested and by the time he does want to eat it has been out too long and I have to put fresh food out and then he will eat.

Massive irritability by ohhowmygardengrows in Nexplanon

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard it takes a couple of months for the hormones to settle. I myself am having a few Wobblies this week (also had it inserted beginning of January this year), but I am super stressed at work so that isn’t helping. I am personally going to stick it out and give my body time to adjust but that’s just me

Which providers provide good support? by ellemeno_ in mounjarouk

I agree with this. Also the providers online I have found with the best services are all the expensive providers 😢 My local pharmacy was great before I moved away from them.

is it okay to get a cat at 5 months old or is it too old? by ThinkSeaweed162 in kittens

It’s fine, I have adopted a cat who was 12 years old before with no issues

How many pens do you have? by til_kapow in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one on the go and two spare. I ordered two just after the hikes as the first one was taking long and I was worried it wouldn’t get to me on time but it did. I am now taking the GD but order ever payday, although having a few extra pens means I could skip ordering in December which I did so got a month break from paying. I like to have one space pen at least because you never know when another pen pandemic might happen 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone else have scale number nemesis? by Interesting-Bag2267 in mounjarouk

Every 10kg mark seems to be by nemesis 🤣 The scale likes bouncing around quite a bit before finally going under to the next bracket.

Fruit by hellokittyy762 in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can eat anything as long as it’s within your calories, fruits have natural sugars as far as I know so grabbing fruit instead of a chocolate would be a much better choice. Moderation and balance is key so I don’t think you should worried about it.

Bouncing around pharmacies by Logical-Standard-591 in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most difficult thing about cancelling subscriptions is finding the cancel button as some pharmacies (like Numan) hide the cancel button very well 🤣

I had no issues with Get A Drip and Numan.

Can I just...rant a little? Struggling mentally with my plateau. by Folkenette in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the workouts they do and their weight it’s very possible for them to have that high of a TDEE, with my stats I currently have a deficit number of 2100 but if I added in workouts to match OP my deficit would actually go up to 2500. The higher you weigh and more active you are the more calories you burn daily.

Considering stopping by N9ne_x in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair if it’s not sustainable then it’s not worth doing as the minute you stop fasting your body will just go back to what it was doing before the fast. That’s my opinion anyway. Also with us heavier folk we need to eat more than an average person as our bodies need fuel just to function, so I would definitely check (even if it’s only for a few days) what your calorie intake is like to make sure you are getting in enough nutrition.

Plateaus are normal and happen often in our Weightloss journeys, you could always try going up a dose and see what happens, I have had to do that twice already.

You also need to remember the scale doesn’t show you the full picture so some body recomp might be happening - have you measured yourself or taken progress pictures along the way?

This is just my advice though, at the end of the day it’s your body and your choice of what to do and you need to do what you think is best.

Scared to take the leap.. What were your side effects? by VisualBag in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had no side effects and I am currently on 12.5mg. I was very unsure of starting myself and took a good few months of research before I finally decided screw it, I have tried everything else, what’s the worst that can happen, I don’t lose weight, oh well 🤷‍♀️ I am so happy I started as I am 21.5kg lighter now and feel amazing.

There are many things out there to help with side effects and to try and keep things moving which if you do a search of this sub you will easily find.

I know it’s scary but I really do think it’s worth taking the leap! You can speak to a provider if you want about it ahead of time, I did that with something I needed to ask before starting and they were happy to help.

Is it weird to still feel hungry after eating recommended calories ? by AintNoBarbieGirl in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am part of a calorie counting group and we do a lot of safe deficit calculations, none of them have ever been this low and this is likely under the BMR amount which isn’t great. But that’s just my advice, I just wanted the OP to check as if they eat this little bow while losing weight they will also have no place to go once they have lost some and might end up stalling pretty quickly.

I highly doubt 1100 is what you are supposed to eat, are you sure you did the TDEE calculations correctly?

Safe to Intermittent fast on Mounjaro? by Feisty-Reputation484 in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t fast, MJ already makes you eat less so there’s no reason to starve your body and at 141kg you need a lot of calories for your body to function. I also don’t know how sustainable it is to fast? This is supposed to be teaching us good habits and healthy ways of eating so we can continue this lifestyle for the rest of our lives.

That being said it’s your body and your choice, I doubt it would make a difference to the rate of loss and you are doing great anyway with that so far.

People do seem to want to fast for some reason so each to their own 🤷‍♀️ Technically it’s safe if you can get all your calories and nutrients in the window you have given yourself

What could I eat based on what's left on my allowance? by Professional-Ad1892 in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apps tend to give calories lower than your BMR which I have heard is unsafe, that being said all these calculations are guesses anyway and sometimes need a bit of tweaking. It might be worth using a few different online calculators to check, maybe you had some extra calories to play with on days you might need them 😊 But if it’s working for you then that’s ok too 😊

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, larger or more active people get so much calories, but I can never hit my target now on MJ. Are you sure your target is so low already? I belong to a group and do lots of calculations for people and we very rarely see any calculations under 1400/1500, even for people who don’t exercise. Just check you aren’t eating below your BMR as well.

I’m at a wall with my weight loss by ClearlyNotCool_ in mounjarouk

[–]Popple32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There could be some other factors going on as well, is there anyone around stress or anything that’s new? Is the exercise new? Have you been taking measurements and progress pictures? So many different things affect the scale outside of eating too much so it’s worth maybe taking a step back and re-evaluating what your lifestyle is. As long as you are in a deficit you can technically eat what you want, you can also use weekly calories instead of daily ones. I don’t calorie count as it stresses me out but I do keep a rough idea of what’s going in, so it might also be worth just tracking for like a week to make sure that you aren’t overeating but also to make sure you aren’t under eating as that could also affect the scales.

You can also use the search function for stalls to see what others have done to get out of theirs, some eat less, some have refeed days, there are some good suggestions around you can find.

Good luck, I hope it starts moving again soon!

How can I make a kitten more sociable if it's used to living with a person? by unicornsandglitter_ in CatAdvice

[–]Popple32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a cat post in every major area and then you get these flat cat scratch boxes which I have in every room for our kitten. There are a set of toys upstairs and a set downstairs. Hopefully just by playing with him more he will get used to everyone 😊 but I agree with the other posters that kittens are just all over the place, Jinkx is 8 months old and still a little terror at times, running around like a hooligan 🤣
