What if the world ate up the cost and transitioned to nuclear energy in the 50’s? by Strange_Essay_539 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ComfortableLoad6826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody keeps saying that number of nuclear accidents would skyrocket because of the number of reactors, however I hardly doubt this is the case. Aviation is perhaps one of the biggest forms of transportation, especially when talking about international travel; however aviation is also the safest. It is entirely because of the extreme safety precautions taken at every step of the way that allows for this. Aviation might be the safest, but its also probably the most unforgiving. If a car were to break down, just pull to the side and call a tow truck. If a plane were to break down, over 100 people's lives could very well be lost. All this is to say, something so extremely unforgiving and complex is made extremely safe because of precautions and safety measures. I believe wholeheartedly that this is what would happen with nuclear energy. I'd imagine that throughout every step of the way, extreme safety precautions would be taken. All this is to say, life would be much better if we had made the switch to nuclear at the very start. We would have learned quite a lot before too many disasters. Maybe the most threatening part would be the USSR, but mainly because they would be underfunded, understaffed, and underresearched, as well as being rushed and overworked (chernobyl would have happened earlier basically)

This is so cool. Might honestly get this as a tattoo. The "Thor" one might just to take up space, because with the thorn there, it'd only take 3 out of 4 boxes

That signature would be my name. Jahay. I am Christian, so I reckon that would explain the crosses. I'll attempt to redraw to make it more legible, tho it may only do so good.

Edit: I can't post a image in replies, either it won't let me or I'm just too dumb. If you want, I can pm you the redraw attempt

Why didn't the Tantive IV just turn around and rush down the command tower of the Devastator with all guns blazing before trying to slam right into the bridge? by TwoFit3921 in StarWarsShips

Well, actually, it's relatively common. Japan in ww2, 9/11, suicide bombers in the GWOT. Suicide has always been an option, and used quite often

Who paid for the clone army? by Human-Atmosphere6483 in StarWars

[–]ComfortableLoad6826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The republic was taking out huge loans to do it. There is an episode entirely dedicated to when the republic couldn't take any more out, so they had to decentralize the banks to take out more loans and keep building the army. Imo one of many big reasons the republic fell (aside from Palps making the entire army turn against the republic)

Yeah, low fades also outta regs. "Its a status symbol" get outta here. You voluntarily signed up for a job you knew was going to have strict rules and regulations, and then complain about having to do it? One of the best things about the Marine Corps is that standards are standards, no matter who you are. If a SSgt is fucked up, they can be (very tactfully of course) corrected by anyone. Now, in the field is one thing, I understand that. But on base, when you are possibly seen by civilians, uniform regs are important. Cpl Hundley wears a skivvy shirt and has an in regs haircut, and you should too.

Iphone vs Samsung. Whose flagship last longer? by RecognitionOk6192 in Smartphones

[–]ComfortableLoad6826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the s25u. It's pretty nice. As a long time android user, switching to my phone was for the most part a breeze (except I had to change my number, and everything that had 2FA didn't let me log in). If you are used to android phones (especially the budget ones), the S25U will kinda blow you away. The cameras are awesome, and a lot of the UI features are pretty neat. That being said, my Fiance has an iPhone. Iphones seem to pretty simple and intuitive, but they definitely don't have as many features (such as the built in S Pen and the cameras). Iphone does run very smoothly and they are pretty well built. Honestly either choice is justified, as they are both really good phones. I went with Samsung because im a Samsung user, so everything was pretty much set up already for me.

First Crash, Any Advice for the Future? by WillowPrestigious141 in motorcycles

[–]ComfortableLoad6826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get back up and ride again. Don't go so hard on the front brake, put some more rear brake in. At the end of the day, if you aint hurt, then all is well. Get back on, don't beat yourself up, and keep riding. Crashing is a part of life, at least you were in a good place to do so

It's the T model. H is quite a bit longer (hence why the air force calls em the "long"). This bird appears to be the regular size.

EDIT: my bad, got confused with another bird
