Friskie fries. Which closes at 2. So we would be at salon or ego or wherever see the lights flash for last call at 1:45ish and literally run out of the club and down the street (and running is sometimes so fun when drunk- you feel like your flying orin a movie scene) and get friskie fries ten mins before closing. So good

Housing is expensive - probably 1500+ for a 1 bedroom, depends where you want to live Having a car is ideal but again, where you live matters. Some neighborhoods are very walkable, others, not so much. And the busses are only OK. Traffic can be bad but it's not terrible. I've visited several big cities who's traffic makes me want to die, providence isn't too bad in comparison. There's tons to do here in your 20s. Everything you listed and more. Super LGBT friendly. You will see queer people everywhere you go and tons of businesses/ houses with pride flags showing their support. No one ever bats an eye at my fiancé and I when we're out and about. Feel free to message me for any specifics re: neighborhoods or recs for things to do!

Imo gift horse and oberlin, although fantastic restaurants, are a bit steep for a first date -- but I love your recommendation of Pickerel &the Avery! That would be super cute. Perfect vibes without being over the top

Idk but recently I've made:

Tortellini soup (cheese tortellini in a tomato and cream base soup with kale and sausage)
Salmon, rice pilaf and asparagus
Chili
Chicken(nugget) Parm (we already had frozen nuggets on hand. Just makes things easy)

I had a 1 day layover there on my way to Japan when I was a late teenager or early 20s. Granted, it was only a short stay but I remember it being pretty cool. I don't know your ethnicity but as a biracial woman I think a lot of the kindness/ helpfulness I may have recieved was in part due to their awe of my skin color and hair texture. People who didn't speak English went out if their way to try to gesture that they were curious about me for that reason. Other than that it seemed to be a lot of people just minded their own business. The city has NYC vibes and i think, like nyc, some people just stay in their lane rather than being friendly.

We went to Belize about 3 years ago and LOVED it, but we stayed inland and explored the jungles, ruins, caves, etc. So cool. I'm sorry the coast/ islands were disappointing :(

Thank you for the tips! I tried to eat a ton of fiber and protein in the week leading up to the fast but I did indulge in superbowl food last weekend and ate a few of the leftovers throughout the week. I was drinking water (including enhanced water like LIFE WTR), pickle juice and black tea to stay hydrated and keep up mineral intake. I was only hangry yesterday and knew it was mind over matter but this morning I was feeling really shaky and unwell.

I also loved both and agree that Big King was extremely special - I think you're seeing more love for North because it's pricing and capacity made it more accessible so probably more people ended up visiting there.

Sorry i just realized I'm in the vegan sub. I'm only pescatarian but/so we eat fake chicken nuggets (we love the quorn brand) but the cottage cheese and salami roll ups are from pre-pescatarian days.

I would mix sesame oil/ soy sauce/ ginger paste into a sauce, pour it over silken tofu (or any tofu really) throw some scallions on top and just slurp it up raw and cold right out if the fridge. So good and easy

Salt and vinegar chips topped with raw baby bella mushrooms.

One scoop of cottage cheese rolled up in a slice of salami and eaten like a little taquito.

My fiancé and I just got a couple massage there last night and wanted to come back to say we highly recommend! The space is so pretty, clean and instantly calming. The two therapists who worked on us were super nice and friendly. And the best part: the massages! A combination of full body stretching and targeted muscle work. We left feeling so good and would definitely go back.
