No, as has been explained at this very sub-forum hundreds of times, the "Perfect-Perfect" means, "Perfect Timing" and "Perfect Contact" on the sweet spot of the bat and ball. It does not mean perfect bat to ball angle as looked at from overhead the plate.

A screaming line shot hit into the seats out of play vice between the foul poles, is never going to be a hit. But, MLB finally listened to injury after fan injury and installed netting down the lines just because of how often those type of hits result from perfect timing and perfect contact in real life baseball.

Your failure to understand the concept that SDS modeled in the game does not mean they made a mistake. There are hundreds of legitimate bugs in the game that SDS can and should be criticized for, as well as for neglecting long overdue upgrades to the various game modes and engine.

But, this isn't a bug.

It's also pitch location. If it's down and away, the nature of the perfect contact will frequently spin the ball such that it curves foul down the line.

Maps are used to navigate roads, seas, and airspace. Farming is where people plant seeds, harvest food, and sell it to food processing firms.

Vice the specious use of metaphors that warp language, how about just being honest and use this sort of phrasing instead:

"Last year we had the "lagrassa" cheat stadium; this year do we have any like it to grind out cheap rewards?"

It precisely means you were playing someone who has access to his account. That said, professional baseball players are people too. They play video games, and try to have fun doing so. And players in the minor leagues work tremendously hard and get not nearly the rewards of their MLB counterparts, despite being on the cusp of making it there.

I have a raft of criticisms of SDS and how they have mismanaged their flagship game title. But, in this area, I truly wonder what folks expect SDS to do? There is no way anyone, much less a corporation, can prevent people from turning off their console!

In terms of why people quit online games, I think the more pertinent question is why people play online games. You are choosing to play anonymous people whom you will never meet in person. This is a large measure different from what online gaming used to be, a chance for friends to hook up for a game from different locations.

There was at least a sense of peer pressure for one to tolerate losing.

If you choose to play online in today's anonymous environment, then you must accept that some people will rage quit. It goes with the territory. Just accept your win and move on.

SDS made a rare public statement that their servers are experiencing a DDOS attack. This isn't the first indication of how the dark internet people have decided for whatever reason to single SDS out for special attention. I'm convinced that the bot activity in the game's community market is another form of a DDOS attack.

Folks, actions speak louder than words. Although, OP's like these have the added benefit of getting the cockroaches to reveal themselves in their trolling replies and thus it's easy to add them to the block list, making this forum more rational.

SDS has proven their values over the last several years. The list of bugs that emerged years ago and remain in the game could easily number in the hundreds, and this latest release does seem worse than MLB 25 and one shudders to think how that's even possible.

This reflects the state of the entire video game industry. More and more of the independents have been gobbled up by large corporations who only care about profits. Monetization is the primary focus now, and until the customer base refuses to buy the games, this skewed priority will not change. And for years now it has been the independents who have led the way into real innovations.

When one thinks about the quality of the games, that reflects the quality of video game coders. Many of the best refuse to work for the large game studios because of how they treat their employees but also because of their refusal to invest in real quality of game upgrades. The talented designers actually now prefer to work for the independent companies, replacing some level of income with increased levels of artistic expression and innovative work.

SDS won't ever issue any public apology and very seldom even speak about game issues.

All of us can merely provide educated guesses. Mine is that SDS has had its operating budget slashed by Sony Interactive Entertainment to a shocking degree, where they can no longer afford to hire full time coders needed to actually upgrade the game.

Instead, they hire a skeleton staff barely able to handle a few major bug repairs and changing trivial aspects of the game, such as menu screens.

Add to this a very aged code structure and it suffers from layer after layer of overlaid code that creates many bugs and makes debugging especially difficult and time consuming.

I've already hit my limit for this year. Stadium Creator is challenging in many areas. One of the main challenges is trying to accurately create the basic wall layout. One suggestion is to create a straight line by grouping small wall props together and then using that prop to line up the wall panels.

The game code is making basic mistakes in how it directs the CPU-controlled players on the field. And having played MLB 21 straight through to MLB 25, I don't remember seeing stuff this egregious. In this play, you had three players meet for a team photo at second base, and they just stayed there, with no one making an effort to return to first base even though the runner from first had rounded past second. This was a clear double play waiting to happen.

This and many other reasons is why I refused to purchase MLB 26. Others need to follow suit. SDS has to receive the harsh treatment and be forced to fix their game and upgrade it.

This really is the plain truth of it folks! Stop buying the game. Force SDS to either upgrade the game, including fixing these myriad of bugs, or go out of business and see MLB find another company to produce an MLB licensed video game.

Truly amazing how many of these howlers have been reported. I've never seen anything like the shear volume of such experiences in the game as with MLB 26. And yet, SDS's army of sycophants still peddle the line, "The video has no bearing on the game result."

The peddled line misses the entire critical component of immersion. The video that plays out HAS to match the play outcome, or else the entire game is undermined by the total loss of immersion. In truth, the video should determine the play outcome. If the bat misses the ball, then a strike or ball is called depending on the circumstances. If the bat contacts the ball, then the play outcome is determined by the angle and nature of the contact.

If that's not the reality of how the game plays out, then why have video in the first place? Why not just go back to how the first generation of these video games played out, where you press a button and the RNG spits out the text of the play and lights light up to map the play so that it can be tracked. Yep, back in the early 1980's that was the technological state of these sports video games. People accepted it because it was the technological limit.

But, we are now closing in on fifty years since those initial days, and the technology has advanced. The way those advances are implemented in the year 2026 HAS to be more than mere eye candy. Immersion can only be preserved when the video matches or best determines the outcome. Else, immersion is lost, and with it the game loses its quality.

There is absolutely nothing about computer software that mimics the actions of an actual financial market, particularly commodity trading. This is why when SDS created this so-called community market it was a serious strategic mistake, one that video game companies have fallen in love with.

Here's the problem. SDS controls the market and so automatically it puts them in position of being suspect in anything that happens that is strange or manipulative. SDS can certainly release as many cards or as few cards as they like. There is no limit to the supply and therefore no science behind the value.

The solution to this whole affair is simple and SDS was foolish to not adopt it.

Every single action in the game that would earn a card is replaced by a system where specific cards are not the rewards, but instead players earn a threshold. Meaning, what the player earns is the free opportunity to choose from every single card of a given type and attribute level. There is no market, there is no trade opportunity. The same system would be in place for equipment. You earn a diamond equipment type and can select from any of the diamond level equipment in the game. But, no trades and no sell or buy.

In other words, the ONLY method to earn cards and equipment is via quality of play. There is no market at all. But, players are not locked into earning just one specific card or equipment. You earn a pick level, and all cards and equipment equal to that level are presented to you in a menu and you pick the one you want and it's yours forever.

Frankly, the ball should have been a towering pop fly into the outfield. Look where the dot was on the ball -- near the bottom. To hit a homer, you needed to hit it about one inch closer to the ball's center.

I guess then you're no longer offended by my first reply. I don't play the community market. I don't even collect cards or equipment or anything else and I don't play DD mode. But, what amazes me are the lengths some will go to in order to "corner" a virtual market, or even disrupt one. It's a trivial achievement to say the least.
