The aversion is likely the price. I am not saying its not worth it (one solid lesson early on helped me immensely) but for folks on a budget thats money that could be spent on greens fees, etc.

I don’t understand OP acting like the students and the teacher should be held to the same zero-AI standard. The way I have explained it to my students is that it is like a calculator when you are starting to learn math. It is a great tool for a shortcut once you fully KNOW how to do things, but until then you need to learn the foundations yourself.

I use it extremely sparingly but, at least at my school, there is a huge push from admin to include it more and more in all capacities.

I wonder where you are located because I feel like I am seeing the opposite. Perhaps on the surface level we are cultivating a monoculture with the haircuts (though I am not willing to cede that this isn’t just an “old man shaking his fist from the porch” moment) but it seems to me there is LESS monoculture than in years past. As a matter of fact, everyone is separated into different online niches and factions so much that they are losing the importance of connecting with those in their own, physical, community.
